There are always loony anti-science “scientists” looking for more grant money. This is just further proof that LIBs are insane.
“trade winds have sped up in an unprecedented fashion,”
If anything that happens is “unprecedented” then how can they claim to understand climate? I thought the all powerful weather models (uh oh, somebodies gonna photoshop in something very naughty here) explain and predict everything that has happened or is ben a gonna happen. So whats up? Are the models crap (please don’t photo shop this) and don’t reveal any understanding of weather or are the omnipotent?
....... So my question to them is .... what, therefore .... are the symptoms of Global Cooling?
The strong winds are caused by wagging trees.
Wonder how much the democratic left paid in grant money for another of these scientific gems.
More scientific certainty. /S
Please, don’t let facts get in the way with their grants. Otherwise there would be a lot of so-called “global warming/weather change” academics in one of Obama’s unemployment lines.
Right now I have about a foot of “global warming” around my house. It wasn’t there the other day. Oh, “climate change”. Sorry.
So the oceans are colder because of stronger wind, stronger wind because of gloabal warming, do I see a circular argument here?
Water at great depth is ALWAYS the same temperature, 38 degrees Fahrenheit, or 4 degrees Centigrade. This is a peculiarity of water, in that it is most dense at that temperature, growing LESS dense as it cools further, with the solid form of water (ice) having the most unique property of being still lighter than the water in which it floats at 32 degrees Fahrenheit or 0 degrees Centigrade.
The great pressure at which water is under at the depths of the ocean tends to keep the water in this most compact configuration, and unless there is extreme pressure from a heat vent on the ocean floor, the superheated vents do not erupt in gases, but in a gush of water heated to perhaps 700 degrees Fahrenheit. This creates a current of less-dense water being carried up to the surface, melting sea ice floes from the BOTTOM in the Arctic ocean.
Fluids are never static. The volume or size of the cold pocket is constantly changing. And we have no clue.
In a global warming scenario the volume of cold water will shrink. Thus part of its initial volume warms.
In a global cooling scenario, the volume of the cold pocket increases. Thus some of the surrounding volume of water cools.
