Fed court, but the power of the pardon is not restricted to the best of my knowledge.

He was convicted of federal charges in federal court, so Obama is free to pardon him as he is leaving office.

Presidential pardons are authorized by Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution:

The President ... shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.

The President has no power to pardon someone convicted of state charges in state court. Except for Obama, of course, since Obama is above petty little things like laws.

I hope they take him to jail in one of the buses he didn't use during the disaster HE created.

And I hope the jail he goes to is... chocolate enough for him!

(Justice is done.)

Only when you see him sentenced and finally locked behind bars.

And...not given a presidential pardon.

I am still amazed that Holder allowed the case to go to trial.

Nagin must have done something to really piss off Obama.

Probably only get 6 months in one of those luxury resort “prisons.” After all, he is the great “hero” of Katrina.

They had no pans in place to evac the citizens of the city. After they were underwater
it was convenient to say they couldn't be used, because. That was the MSM's exempt
cover story for the Dems so Bush could be blamed.

He may be a former mayor, but he is not a former Democrat. So it should be DEMOCRAT former mayor Ray Nagin.

Yeah, I thought it was a really lame/funny excuse from a ‘rat. But, of course, it was let pass by the media.

The obvious followup question would have been “why didn’t you use them BEFORE they were under water?”
