My late grandmother would have loved to know she could work on the family farm! I think of all those years she spent working on the farm, never knowing she could work on the farm...or something like that.
My father tells me they didn't have insurance back in those days. The country doctor that set their broken bones and stitched up cuts, worked for cash, or even barter at times. Yet my grandparents lived into their 80s, and my dad and uncle grew up strong and healthy. Too bad my grandmother couldn't work on the family farm she worked on all those years...

I understand how and why he was elected in 08 but Ill never understand how he was actually re-elected after all the damage he has done. Two reasons: A massive get out the vote campaign coupled with "early voting" (aka round up the slackers) and massive vote fraud (do it more than once, don't worry about any IDs, vote for the ones who don't show up, and rig the electronic voting machines so a percentage of the GOP vote goes to your guy).
It's easy when you know how to do it.
I predict a Demoncrat will never lose another Presidential election.

Maybe we could have collective farms so we don’t have to see citizens starve to death... the New York Times can cover for it and win a prize. It’s all good, right?

Among some American Indian tribes, farming was "women's work."
I recall an article, probably from the early 1970s, about the Seneca Indians of upstate New York, who had a reservation dating back to the George Washington administration. None of the men wanted to be seen doing farm work because that was "women's work," so they had planted rows of trees between the properties so that a man could do farm work without anyone else being able to see him do it.
