The real Starbucks (SBUX, Fortune 500) isn't happy with the parody coffee shop calling itself Dumb Starbucks that's popped up in Los Angeles, and wants the faux baristas to drop the act.
"We appreciate the humor but they can't use our name," Starbucks spokesman Jim Olson told CNNMoney. "It's a protected trademark. It's our trademark."

"We appreciate the humor..." It would be more amusing if Nirvana's "Dumb" was played all day considering they were a Seattle-based band.

I don’t know what the guy from Starbucks is complaining about.
The two names are pronounced AND spelled differently.

The republicans would probably have won the presidency in 2012 if they had simply run a candidate named “Dumbarack Dumbobama”...

Or, use the commonly used “Fivebucks”.

I assume that’s sarcasm, because this is one of the most blatant examples of trademark infringement ever. Also copyright infringement for copying the logo artwork, whether or not used as a trademark.
This is a shameless PR stunt.

Yes. Yes it was.
By the way, the perpetrators of “Dumb Starbucks” used an interesting ploy to try to get around copyright infringement complaints. They claimed their store is a work of “performance art”.

They should be shut down today! If not, what is the point of having laws? Beyond shameless.

Great idea, that would be funny as hell.
Even “Star FIVE Bucks” This is just going to get people sued (unless of course they turn out to be liberals just having fun, in which case all will be forgotten)
