Philippine marines killed at least 6 Muslim extremists and captured one of their jungle lairs in fighting in the south, military officials said Monday.
Backed by village militias, the marines launched an assault over the weekend after several Abu Sayyaf militants were monitored in their jungle lair near Talipao town on Jolo Island, marine brigade commander Col. Jose Cenabre said.

Something we ought to be doing here instead of letting the disease progress. The number of mosques here mushroomed after 9/11, and still over four-fifths of those are essentially headquarters for Islamic terrorism.

I agree , a sensible leader would declare Islam a cult and thus defined not eligible for protections under the 1st Amendment , and then ban it from practice in America .
I am sure the Saudis at least would understand .

. . . . . sensible leader would declare Islam a cult . . . ?Unfortunately most countries in Southeast Asia now celebrate ramadan as national holiday including the Philippines even if islamists are only minorities there, except for Indonesia.

The Philippines and killing Muslim extremists - surely not in the paradise of the Philippines. “The number of mosques mushroomed after 9/11, and still over four-fifths of those are essentially headquarters for Islamic terrorism.”
Surely that info. is wrong - I say again, surely not in the Philippine island paradise. Islamic terrorism? Surely not in the Philippine paradise.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear; that was in the USA. Don’t know what the statistics are in the Philippines offhand.

Yes, in the far south in the east of Mindanao there is a autonomous Muslim area, and the army is always having to fight them. In my five years here, however, I have never knowingly seen a Muzie. Everything here is very Catholic.

This is another theater of the same war, and one where some unsung American warriors are fighting alongside indigenous troops.

One wonders if these current Muzz are the direct descendants of the “Moros” from way back in the 1900-1902 Insurrection... Which, of course, the history books don’t really talk about anymore.
...Or are they recently imported/infiltrated jihadis?

Jolo island ain’t really on the same planet as the rest of the Phils.
The ARMM was a disastrous compromise. The fringe western islands off Mindanao are no-go muzzy ghettos.
I guess if you just claim it to be yours and no-one forcibly takes it under control, you can have it.
Adverse possession on a global scale?
The SW US may be in the throws of just such an action.
Can you say “Aztlan” (sometimes “Azatlan”)?
