I know - that’s the problem.
I find it a little ironic that throughout South America, you find the vestiges of their conquerors of the past. Spanish (even Portuguese in the case of Brazil), or the versions thereof have largely supplanted the ancient languages of their ancestors. In the end they speak the language of their conquerors.
Think about that. Think about what is happening now in the is country on a much larger scale. Concerted and direct efforts to supplant English.
