The Tories are doomed to defeat at the 2015 general election if David Cameron gives in to Eurosceptic 'obsessives' and allows policy to be driven by a fear of Ukip, MP Tim Yeo has warned.

Mr Yeo believes his own pro-EU stance as well as his support for gay marriage and green policies contributed to his local party voting not to re-select him as its candidate after 30 years in the Commons.

Exactly my thoughts on the subject. He’s supposed to be working for the people, yet he’s complaining they are “extreme” when they do not condone his viewpoints. Sorry, doesnt wash.

How can he call others’ views extreme when the majority voted against his - surely this shows that in the electorate’s minds his are the extreme views and theirs are the normative ones!

Regionalism and Globalism are not Conservative ideas...probably the dumbest move of any rightist party is to campaign against your own nation

“The South Suffolk MP is a ‘very strong supporter’ of coalition with the Liberal Democrats”

No kidding. He seems to have gotten confused and joined the wrong party.

The Tories are doomed to defeat RIGHT NOW because UKIP is taking 10%+ of their base vote because they aren't conservative ENOUGH. Mr. Yeo is living in a dream world if he thinks the party can make up the difference by going left. I'm glad people in his constituency decided to get rid of him.

The freeper that said this CINO from the UK resembles Howard Dean was spot on. I think they were separated at birth:
