Justice Dept. Applies Same-Sex Rights to Itself (Far reaching rules change)

In an assertion of same-sex marriage rights, Attorney General Eric Holder is applying a landmark Supreme Court ruling to the Justice Department, announcing Saturday that same-sex spouses cannot be compelled to testify against each other, should be eligible to file for bankruptcy jointly and are entitled to the same rights and privileges as federal prison inmates in opposite-sex marriages.

The Justice Department runs a number of benefits programs, and Holder says same-sex couples will qualify for them. They include the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund and benefits to surviving spouses of public safety officers who suffer catastrophic or fatal injuries in the line of duty.

"In every courthouse, in every proceeding and in every place where a member of the Department of Justice stands on behalf of the United States, they will strive to ensure that same-sex marriages receive the same privileges, protections and rights as opposite-sex marriages under federal law," Holder said in prepared remarks to the Human Rights Campaign in New York. The advocacy group works on behalf of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equal rights.

Just as in the civil rights struggles of the 1960s, the stakes in the current generation over same-sex marriage rights "could not be higher," said Holder.

I don’t care as long as they don’t call it “marriage”. But you know they want to anway just to stick it to us and destroy whatever is left of our traditional institutions.

Well this ought to really help in the prosecution of criminals. They can now just “marry” their partner in crime and evoke spousal rights.

Yeah, and wait till "plural marriage" gets recognized in the same way that the sham of "homosexual marriage" is now.

Once you let a sham into a well-organized system, that well-organized system itself becomes a sham.

This country is in such a deep morass of evil that I think nothing except a total reset can fix it.

“They can now just “marry” their partner in crime and evoke spousal rights.”

Excellent point.

That is already a big enough problem in our courts today where a husband and wife cannot testify against each other even when one or both are guilty of a crime.

The problem of Spousal Privilege will just become much worse when gay and lesbian couples cannot be compelled to testify against each other.

Because now that they have the bit in their teeth, sodomites are more aggressive, and organised, and mostly smarter and richer than the other “victim” groups, in advancing their agenda and supporting politicians in doing so. They have something to give, while most “victim” groups are only able to take. They make the ideal “victim” group for ambitious politicians.

I checked your source, to see where the term opposite-sex marriage was derived--I mean in your paraphrase or Holder's speech? Since it was in a direct quote from Holder, I wonder why you did not put the words in quotes.

Why is this important? Because the idea that "opposite-sex marriage," is something requiring such a label, is patently insane. If Holder really is that confused as to the whole functional purpose of marriage in Western Culture--or for that matter in Eastern Culture, or any civilized culture--he really is certifiable.

The civilized peoples of the earth have from ancient times solemnized marriage to sanctify procreation. It is the case in the West, and I believe every where else that marriage is considered sacred, that a marriage not-consummated by a procreational act is voidable, subject to annulment. That is because sanctifying procreation is the central purpose. That does not mean that people who cannot conceive, cannot marry, and stay married to death do they part. But the relationship, as a recognized concept, is inherently sexual (that is based upon the division of the species into too sexes); inherently related to procreational needs.

To argue for the Holder position, here, one must focus only on the wishes of those who reject normal sexuality, and tune out the entire context of the sexual function, the multi-generational nature of human life--indeed all life--as well as all the traditional tenets of morality, proper behavior, the relationship of the citizenry to their government, the actual Constitution, etc., etc. If this be not insanity--literally, in this case, a psychopathic embrace of a disconnected view of reality--just what is it?

No one is advocating stoning anyone, or turning over a stone wall on anyone, or breaking into homes on the suspicion of any private act, with a willing grownup participant. But it is time to stop suggesting that this is just some debatable issue over an "alternative live-style." It isn't. Words have meanings, and their is no rational way one can misinterpret marriage in this manner.

It seems to be the only area where they genuinely do have “laser like focus.”
