Thanks for the post. This explains a thing or two.

When the crisis started it started with Ukraine reneging a deal with EU. The politicians representing the EU reacted very badly to being scorned, and it appeared that it was they who were behind the demonstrations that started only hours after the deal between the EU and the Ukraine had become unstuck.

I must admit that surprised me. We have become so accustomed to the fact that the EU is unable to even organize a proverbial p*ss-up in brewery, that the fact that they could assist in getting tens of thousands of demonstrators on the streets in a far away city like Kiev, was very unusual to say the least. Quite definitely scary!

However, it turns out that the EU played its usual rôle, yapping behind the big guy, ie the US.

As for the reason for the US to meddle in Ukraine, I really don't understand it. Why give up the Middle East to Iran and Russia, and then at the same time attack Russia on what she traditionally considers her home turf.

I guess it's the same amateur hour that we saw during the Arab Spring. And look how well that turned out....
