The Left's Lamest Defense Of ObamaCare Yet
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 02/05/2014 | IBD Staff

obs: ObamaCare backers are working hard to put a happy face on news the Affordable Care Act will cause the labor force to shrink by 2.5 million full-time jobs over the next decade. What they've come up with isn't pretty.

We don't expect much in the way of sound economic reasoning from liberals, but listening to their reaction to the latest findings on ObamaCare left us dumbstruck.

To recap: The Congressional Budget Office determined that ObamaCare would discourage work, in large part because many middle-income families will find themselves in what amounts to a 50% marginal income tax bracket as ObamaCare subsidies tail off.

As a result, there'd be 2.5 million fewer "full-time equivalent" jobs and a 1% drop in overall compensation.

This doesn't sound so good. But to liberals, it's supposed to be music to our ears. As the New York Times explained, it's "a liberating result of the law."

Others were equally laughable.

In every campaign ad, the GOP should pound Obama and the Democrats as declaring a War on Workers. No subsidized sloth! It has never been the American ethos, and we do not need to be “transformed” into Greece.

Reminds me of this old old joke:

Boss: I’ve got good new and bad news for you.

You: What’s the bad news?

Boss: The bad news is you’re fired, the good news is you can spend more time with your family.

RE:”This doesn't sound so good. But to liberals, it's supposed to be music to our ears. As the New York Times explained, it's “a liberating result of the law.”
Others were equally laughable.
• “ObamaCare will give more of us more time away from work. This is a good thing.”
• It “will enable more than 2 million workers to escape ‘job lock.’”
• It “gives workers more choices, including the option to work less.”
• Because ObamaCare will make people less willing to work, companies will “have to pay more per hour to get those workers in the door.”
• One lawmaker even boasted ObamaCare will give parents more time to “tuck their children in at night.”

Bribing the poor to not work and not get ahead is called ‘liberating’ by Dems.

Who do Dems expect to do the work that they are paying Americans to not do?

Illegals ! HAHA

The rest of the country laughs at these excuses. I wonder if the liberals making them really believe them or are just trying to put a happy face on bad news. I suspect it's both.

If this is the best they can come up with, conservatives should be optimistic. It's further evidence they're losing control of the Obamacare messaging

Liberals think employment is a scheme created by The Man to keep them from spending their days creating bad art and having bad sex. It’s not a surprise that Reid, et al, are trying this lame argument - it will work on the same people who fell for the Lena Dunham ad.

Vote-crazed Democrats characterize the recent CBO bombshell report---that poor Americans will opt to work less and get paid less so that their Obamacare is free or near free w/ subsidies--- is lauded as a positive that gives Americans "options."

This is a Prog's twisted version of capitalism-----they call it being "economically incentivized! ” ROTFLOL.

===============================================

The Madoff Playbook is required reading in the Boobamba WH. Remember when Sen Mike Enzi (R-Wyo) reported that the Boobamba con artists were planning to "aggregate the numbers" so employers could not evade Boobamba/Care law by having fewer employees?

"Aggregating The Numbers"----a con artist phrase if there ever was one. Like something Madoff told his investors as he was setting up tax-evading secret offshore accounts......money-laundering and wire-transferring stolen money into a labyrinth of assorted crooked entities.

==============================================

THE HEALTHCARE CON GAME UP CLOSE E-v-e-r-y lock-stepping Democrat voted for O/Care in a straight party-line vote--- nationalizing 1/6th of the US Economy into a Democrat Cash Cow. ALL the untraceable O/Care money from enrollments, fines, penalties, taxes, fees, and asset confiscation (from Medicaid users) goes to your "reliable, trustworthy government."

"LETS MAKE A DEAL, DEMOCRATS." Vote aye now.
When the zillions start rolling in, you get a piece of the action.

When the left makes it nice and comfortable to not work,
there are many that are going to choose that “option”.

I don’t know... Most sheeperal will deny outright embarrassing points like this.

I’ll have to try to work in a question for my libinlaw, see if she defends it or denies it.

People are experiencing a pay cut (in the form of mandated high-priced donkey-care) to work the same hours. This used to be called exploitation. Now the Dems are pointing accusatory fingers at people moving to part-time hours to avoid the exploitation; or they are attempting to term the lost hours, “Fun-employment.”

Can’t make this nonsense up. Voters can’t possibly be buying this crap, but - public schools ARE pretty bad nowadays.........

On the subject of Obamacare, Morning Joe’s lib dumb Mika has been making the case that we will have to wait another 15 to 20 years before we will know if and how well Obamacare works.

Remember 2010 Pelosi saying she must pass the O-care bill before we can find out what’s in it?

Now they are saying we must wait another decade or two more.

Well, when you start from the assumption/rule that everything the left does is good,

then the results must be good, somehow.

Obamacare is not about health care, it is a tax intended to help fill the void in the budget!

If the carbon tax had passed we would not be terrorized by this boondoggle.

Funny, I had just the opposite thought. Democrats will celebrate the new “choice” and Republicans will criticize it. Then, Dems will accuse them of waging a “War on Workers”!

“Yesterday, Washington’s official non-partisan bean-counter, the Congressional Budget Office, dropped a bomb. By 2024, says the CBO, Obamacare will reduce the size of the U.S. labor force by 2.5 million full-time-equivalent workers.”

This may be happening in N Californicator land since the first of the year.

My wife and I are both retired citizens. One of the things we do is to try and avoid traffic jams and crowds when we go out for lunch and to do our errands.

So, when we go out to lunch it is usually after the so called lunch hour, 12:45 pm to 1 pm.

Since the first of the year, we have noticed two interesting trends:

1. Even less people than normal in the good restaurants and better so called fast food places for lunch. Problems, finding a parking place rarely occurs now.

2. There is a what appears to be a mini rush hour re heavier traffic from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm, like we used to have after 3:30 pm and then @ 5:30 pm plus or minus a half hour. The drivers don’t appear to be going shopping or after school kids. Usually just a driver and no passengers, lining up at the traffic lights. Also, more than usual construction pickups during this time period are in the traffic mix.

My wife knows many friends and others, who have had their work day hours cut to 4 to 6 hours per day. Walmart, other chains, and independent stores are cutting the daily hours for their employees since the first of the year.

A younger relative couple living in an East Bay county are seeing similar traffic patterns re a new mini rush hours. The husband is getting home about 15 to 25 minutes early. He said the end of the work day traffic is a lot lighter, and the going to work traffic is about the same. The wife usually does her shopping and errands from 2 to 3:30 pm before picking up their kids at school. She said that the traffic loads during that time are similar to past years’s after 3:30 pm.

Yesterday on 2/5/14, my wife and I saw the same weird traffic pattern, a mini rush hour from 1:30 to 2:30 pm.

Then, at 5:30 pm we took a dinner for a church couple with one of them recovering from a hospital stay.

The traffic should have been heavy at that time, and it was about the same or less than the earlier 1:30 to 2:30 pm.

Fifteen minutes it was even lighter when we came home.

Language games and “framing” morph effortlessly into Newspeak. “The chocolate ration has been increased from 30 grams to 25, citizens!”
