Two more things, which people have mentioned but which I want to mention together in a single post:
Both are also "diverse" in Progressive Land. For example, both are not aligned with what I'll call historic Christianity. Your friendly local leftists will embrace both while happily defaming, for example, conservatives.
Both are also actually opposed to each other when neither is diluted; you may see some Gay Muslim groups at the fringes, but just try to start a Gay Pride Parade in Kabul, Tehran, or Mecca.
Of course, if you were ever to embrace an ever-increasing, ever-mindless Circle of Diversity (from which, of course, conservatism is perpetually excluded), you would probably expect that some of the things within this circle would oppose one another.
For a few obvious reasons, though, just about anyone who points out the fact will probably never be one of your friendly local leftists.
