For the second time in a week, the nation´s top intelligence chiefs Tuesday issued a scathing assessment of the global threats facing the United States, warning that Syria is becoming a base from which extremist, Al Qaeda-linked groups could attack the U.S. “We are concerned about the use of Syrian territory by the Al Qaeda organization to recruit individuals and develop the capability to be able not just to carry out attacks inside of Syria, but also to use Syria as a launching pad,” said CIA Director John Brennan at a hearing before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

That kind of simple, basic logic doesn't fly in government. We could reduce the chance of domestic terrorism to near zero by simply not allowing into the USA anyone born in, or passport holder of - approx. 15 M.E. and South Asian countries.
So quit sending arms over to them! So far, the Obama administration has armed islamists in Libya, Egypt and Syria. He might as well help them build their launching pad....if he hasn’t already done it.

This is Obama’s and McCain’s “Mission Accomplished”.

Would it not be nice if lets say, we hypothetically, had bases in a place in the Middle East, somewhere close to our best friends Iran and Syria, some place where we can make the rules and execute a war against radical Islamic elements using the full capabilities of our IC and DoD? A place not to far from the Caucasus and on the Persian Gulf. Some place that was important because of its oil and that bordered Iran in case they develop a long range missile.
Can anyone name me such a place?

Why are they issuing warnings, I thought this was the desired outcome?

If they are not worried why should we be?
the neocons are still struggling to get us to intervene in their regime change agenda in Syria gone bad, an agenda that all along had the elements of repeating our 1980s errors in Afghanistan - a “U.S.” objective being locally run by a bunch of Islamists funded mostly by Saudi Arabia who were/are on an Islamist agenda of their own, and willing to contract our the dirty work to the terrorists
