He has decided not to run for reelection so he feels he can show his true colors, now.

Harkin has been a communist sympathizer since the VN war. He was part of the team that “discovered” the Con Son Island prisons they claimed as “Tiger Cages”.

The whole thing was a hoax. He was joined by Don Luce, an IVS leader in Vietnam who went over to the reds and Khomeini and never came back. THe others were Rep. Augustus Hawkins (D-CA), an admitted former member of the CPUSA (sometime in the 1940s. No details from Hawkins other than this).

The other was Rep. Andrew Jacobs (R?-Ill). At least I think this was the other guy. He was a liberal and didn’t know what they hell they were pulling over his eyes.

Harkins also was a top supporter of the Sandinistas in Nicaragua and the FMLN in El Salvador, among other communist causes.

You can find significant information on his communist connections at www.keywiki.org and www.DiscoverTheNetwork.org.

The old biweekly newsletter “The Pink Sheet on the Left”/American Sentinel” also carried numerous articles about Harkin. Unfortunately it is not online yet.

The Capitol Research Center (spell Capitol also as Capital re googling purposes if necessary) also had him in lists of supporters of various leftist organizations.

He briefly shows up in S. Steven Powell’s book “Covert Cadre: Inside the Institute for Policy Studies”, about 1986.

Harkin has been “red for decades. The sooner he dies, the better for America’s security.
