Lefties Deciding Who’s a Conservative
National Review Online - The Corner ^ | February 3, 2014 10:02 AM | Mark Krikorian

It’s great to have dopey, clueless opponents. Mark Zuckerberg, charter member of Billionaires for Open Borders who wants to import more cheap Indian programmers, has distributed a memo to House offices intended to boost the GOP brain trust’s amnesty push. (It’s also a riposte of sorts to Senator Jeff Sessions’s memo on the harm that would be done to American workers from proposed increases in immigration.) Most of the Zuckerberg memo is the usual quotes from the usual suspects, such as Grover, Jeb, Rubio, Ryan, et al., about how immigration will cure everything from baldness to bad breath.

Like any lefty document, the report warns of the “shocking extremism behind anti-immigrant groups,” citing their “hateful rhetoric, extreme views, and blatant falsehoods” (including some of my Corner posts). But what really struck my funny bone was this: “While some anti-immigrant voices falsely claiming to speak for conservatives may raise concern over the draft principles, they do not represent the majority of the Republican Party.” Now, it may seem odd that a liberal billionaire would fund a report written by a Democratic staffer citing the Center for American Progress on who’s a real conservative! But Washington in general, and the immigration debate in particular, has a certain BizarroWorld character, so maybe they didn’t find this unusual.

So, who are some of the individuals and groups that have raised concerns about the House leadership’s immigration approach, “falsely claiming to speak for conservatives”? A partial list would include National Review, the Heritage Foundation, Ramesh Ponnuru, Andy McCarthy, Ross Douthat, Bill Kristol, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Sarah Palin, John Cornyn, Phyllis Schlafly, Ann Coulter, Ted Cruz, Phil Gramm, Michelle Malkin, Peter Kirsanow, and Erick Erickson.

If they’re false conservatives, who are the real conservatives?

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

I'll make this easy:

You and I are the only real conservatives on Free Republic.

And I have my doubts about you...

Just bend over and take it conservatives. Because we need more immigrants taking away high paying American jobs. We need more illegal Mexicans on a path to citizenship to vote Democrat.

The Boehner wing of the party is just plain stupid.

Hmmmm, let me see... Do I want to continue on as "Charlie Brown," while the open borders crowd assures us that, as Lucy, she won't pull the football out of the way when we try to kick a football, THIS TIME! Never mind the little fact that Lucy's made this promise over and over again in the past; This time, they'll keep their word.

So I have a little idea... Let's seal the border as the first step of "comprehensive immigration reform." Once the border has been closed, for real this time, then we can begin to talk about the next step to take.

It's not just the high paying jobs. In my area, it's almost impossible to find people who speak English as their primary language holding the minimum wage jobs that used to go to teens as their entry into the job force. It was those minimum wage jobs that trained those teens what it meant to work, and how to develop a work ethic.

At a local Hardees, EVERYONE behind the counter converses with each other in Spanish, and it's difficult to put in a "special order."

What is with the disconnect with a lot of the pro-amnesty crowd. Last I looked, their isn’t a flood of computer programers, scientists, and medical doctors flooding over the southern border. I have never heard anyone head down to the local Home Depot parking lot looking for a heart specialist. Maybe with Obamacare we will be (sarc). What so hard about setting legal immigration numbers, and not letting in the rest. Those who break the law should be deported, period. If we need more workers, up the number. If we need less, lower them. If someone wants family reunification, well don’t come here. Families can be reunified just as easily or easier if the immigrant goes back. They say well we cannot deport 11 million people. As someone pointed out on Howie Carr’s show one time, the Germans did it with pen and paper. With our computers and such it should be easier for us, sans the brutality. But when someone says its impossible, they really mean they do not have the will to do it, period.

The GOP is always talking about reaching out to African Americans. Well here is the issue that works, and nothing from the GOP. To be honest, as a business owner, it will not be my job that illegal aliens will be taking. It will be the jobs of African-Americans and legal Hispanics that are at risk. For example, here in the Northeast, back in the 80’s, landscaping crews were populated by both white and black teenagers. Not anymore, even thousands of miles away from the border. I take back my job being at risk. As I’m hiring African-Americans and legal Hispanics to work for me, my competition is cutting the legs out from under me by hiring illegal aliens. I follow the law, but by doing so, I take a big hit.

When you control the organs of propaganda, in a media-centric society, you can control the definition of anyone you want to.

We lost the war, when we lost the major media on all levels to gay control. It’s really just as simple as that. History will look back upon this time, as we look back on the NAZI era.

Could Hitler have done all that he did, without the assistance of a compliant media? And media penetration of everyday life is many times more now, than what it was then.
