The actual headline is "Climate Science Is For Second-Raters Says World's Greatest Atmospheric Physicist". Our old pal James Delingpole is referring to MIT prof Richard Lindzen's testimony to the House of Commons Energy and Climate Change Committee at Westminster this week. This exchange with the ghastly, condescending Tim Yeo was especially choice:

I live in the home of the "green police," Santa Cruz County, California. This is where the first Local Agenda 21 was drafted into law, anywhere (and I was the secretary of the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Management Roundtable). Yet when they instituted their recycling program, they weren't ready. So they had people washing their recyclable garbage and putting it into separate containers FOR A YEAR and Waste Management, Inc. would pick it up and haul it ALL off to the landfill. It was a waste of water, energy, and time. They didn't care.
When I called them to ask them why, they said, "We just want the public to get used to it anyway."
Pittsburgh did that too....one of the local TV stations followed the recycling truck and sure enough they just took it to the dump with everything else.

In some cases, they’d be better off putting it in a pile and mining it later.
