Christians do not surrender the social issues.
IF the GOP is interested in ever winning another election, they won’t surrender the social issues either.
Never giving up, and I don’t care what surrender monkeys think!
On gay marriage, my reply to liberals is, “When Barack Obama was first elected, he opposed gay marriage, and you voted for him and did not call him a bigot.”
Social conservatism and fiscal conservatism go hand-in-hand. The two simply cannot be separated. They are to politics what peanut butter and chocolate are to Reese's cups.
Social issues? The GOP’s abandoned the fiscal issues as well, and that a long time ago. They’ve only paid lip service to conservatism (it’s only liberals that try to split conservatism between social and fiscal; the typical divide-and-conquer tactic). How can they be believed?
All political calculation. Nothing about right and wrong, good and evil. And certainly not the good of society. I loathe these people, and I can hardly bring myself to vote anymore.
Well, the GOP has obviously given up on BOTH fiscal and social.
Personally, I consider myself 50/50, both fiscal and social conservative. But I think there is a difference. The fiscal side deals with a certain ideological approach to governing. The social side, however, that speaks to one’s very identity. One’s very soul. If you sell out your soul... you really have nothing. Nothing at all.
The Republican Party:
Its only principle is to have no principles.
Its only strategy is preemptive surrender.
Its only plan for victory is to alienate its base as much as possible.
