Yes, we as a society have gotten off of the track of righteousness, which is furnished to us sinners in God.
Without an allegiance to God, we are left with the ugly enemy of God’s grace, which is pride. And pride can get pretty damned (word intended) shortsighted. Ah, look at the wonderful cop-in-a-box! Except he isn’t in a box except of his own construction, out of the devil’s hate.
It’s only through renewed personal allegiance to God (which in the modern, Christian covenant is individual, and not an institutional thing) that America can be blessed again.
Gladly, I see all kinds of signs that the Lord hasn’t given up yet. Our troubles are chastenings, warning us of the hell towards which we’ve been sailing. A wholehearted call upon the Lord can still save the day, and evangelists are needed to exhort people to do this. Evangelists are not just a yesteryear phenomenon. They are as modern as today.
