Charlie Christ's The Party's Over: How the Extreme Right Hijacked the GOP and I Became a Democrat is scheduled to be released Feb. 4. The Tampa Bay Times received an advance copy Wednesday.

I would suggest a better book - 2003 - Georgia Democrat Zell Miller's A National Party No More.

Weird. I recall Plain being quite interested in local issues throughout her time in national politics. Wisconsin comes to mind. I also specifically remember her appearing on Katie Couric and on NBC for interview...not just Hannity and Hasselbeck. In fact, I don’t recall her being on Fox much for interviews during the election. I am sure she was, but I saw her doing rallies and local interviews quite a bit. I don’t know how she appeared only with Hasselbeck either since the view has five hosts, and guests appear with all of them. They may have some one-off interviews, but I’ve never seen a clip of one in my memory...not even by Bar-ba Wawas.

I agree with him about one point: from what I’ve heard, Karl Rove is indeed a jerk.

Hope Crist enjoys being a Democrat/Communist and getting all those accolades from the lamestream media crowd and PMSNBC. Because that’s all he has left to look forward to.

"She was campaigning in a vital swing state, and still never asked me: 'What's going on in Florida? What are the local issues here? What are people thinking about?' Even if she didn't care, why not make idle conversation?"

Maybe because she realized you are are TOOLBOX Crist!

You weren't worth the effort and you have showed your Progressive Soul.

Crist's near-selection as McCain's running mate

Huh? That is the first I have heard about that.

Crist may have been on a list, but Palin was selected by McCain's team. McCain said later his 'choice' was Lieberman.

Crist's assertion seems to lack authenticity.

Crist's near-selection as McCain's running mate.

Near only counts for horseshoes, hand grenades and nuclear bombs.

Pictures of Charlie Crist are creepy enough to make me think that he could star in the dad-daughter sequel to the new mother-son Old Spice Commercial.

As to his lament that Palin wouldn't make idle conversation with him I would guess that ANY conversation with Charlie would be idle.

Could you imagine if Crist and not Sarah had been McCain’s running mate??

Obama would have won by 50 points, and the “savior” crap would have been even more deafening.

I think they're both frauds when you read their arguments.

Charlie Crist: All that stuff I said about supporting traditional marriage and gun rights in 2006, I didn't really MEAN it. And oh yeah, when I ran an "Independent" for Senate, I didn't mean that either. I realized all these years I was really a Democrat after I continually got my butt handed to me trying to get elected as a Republican and Independent.

Zell Miller: Thankfully I recently discovered I was really pro-life after my great-grandchildren were born, and I was conveniently NOT running for re-election to the U.S. Senate. Even though the Democrat Party has always supported abortion on demand since 1973 and I never had any problems with it before, they changed their views, I didn't change mine!!

She was definitely different from anyone I’d ever campaigned with. ................................. You betcha! She drew the largest crowds in Florida, and the people loved her. Hopefully she’ll come down and campaign for Scott. She won’t be campaigning for Crist, that’s for sure. Crist will concentrate on the S/E coast, where all the NYC Liberals moved to. Put them in power in FLA and it will become another NY. FLA doesn’t need to be NY South.
