Obamacare Confusion Begins as Hospitals Unable to Verify Healthcare Plans

On Thursday, sick people with Obamacare-purchased insurance plans were crestfallen when hospital staff in Northern Virginia were unable to verify whether their plans were active, reports the Daily Mail.

“They had no idea if my insurance was active or not!” a coughing Maria Galvez told the Daily Mail at the Inova Healthplex facility in Springfield. “It’s not fair—you know, I signed up last week like I was supposed to.”

Galvez added, “The people in there told me that since I didn’t have an insurance card, I would be billed for the whole cost of the x-ray” at a rate of over $500.

Galvez, who purchased a Bronze Obamacare plan for $450 a month, says she never received a bill. Her Obamacare plan brings with it a steep $5,500 per-person deductible.

Another women, whom the Daily Mail describes as an African-American woman named Mary who asked that her last name not be published, left the Inova Alexandria Hospital in Alexandria, Virginia, after she experienced similar frustrations.

What’s going on here? The Imperial pResident decreed that the hospitals should go ahead and assume that all who say they are registered with the state as loyal subjects are registered. Heads will roll when the master gets word of this betrayal. Going against his Royal Highness’ wishes is treason.

Just load ‘em all up with plenty of surgery, fancy drugs, and private rooms in the ICU. I’m pretty sure they’re covered — and if it turns out they’re not, just send ‘em a bill for $75,000.

2014 has the makings of being a year of massive Conservative schadenfreude. I’m feeling it myself as I watch the Dim’crats and their progressive media protectors writhe and contort themselves trying to “explain” developments.

With a $5,500 deductible, she would still have to pay the entire cost of the x-ray out of her own pocket.

Careful to conserve Schadenfreude.....there is only a finite supply of it in the universe.

Some Obamacare plans cover certain things without the deductible kicking in. Generic medicine but not name brand ones in some plans would be covered. Maybe some of them would cover a certain number of X-rays?

$5500 PER PERSON deductible? Are you shiiting me? And they have the audacity to call this the AFFORDABLE Care Act?

I'm very skeptical that most of the enrollees even understood what they were signing up for.

Yes, but the cost is vastly less if she is insured than if she isn't. Even before the deductible is met, she gets the insurance company price, although she pays it instead of the insurer.

Guess what. your deduct won’t have been met. You’d be paying for that x-ray anyways.

I thought Bozo had “requested” (ordered) the insurance companies to cover the first months premiums.
