FTA:

Science proves the president is wrong. Knee replacements, for example, not only relieve pain but also save lives. Seniors with severe osteoarthritis who opt for knee replacement are less apt to succumb to heart failure and have a 50% higher chance of being alive five years later than arthritic seniors who don’t undergo the procedure, according to peer-reviewed scientific research.

Yet Foster warned Congress that 15% of hospitals may stop treating seniors once the Obama-Care cuts go into effect. The rest will have to lower the standard of care. Hospitals will have $247 billion less over the next decade to care for the same number of seniors as if the health law had not been enacted.

Standard and well-known procedures such as cataract surgery or hip replacements not only save lives, but money. A person who is able to walk, see, etc. is a person who ultimately costs less in care and in many cases a person who is then able to go on working or being productive.

Many, many people who fall into the “senior” category work, at least part-time, and of course self-employed people usually keep on working until they drop. Making this common surgery unobtainable by them is going to lower their income and make them more dependent and costly. But I guess that’s only if they’re allowed to stay alive, which is the next question on Obama’s agenda.

Not surprising at all. With the pain of arthritic knees, physical activity is difficult, if not impossible, meaning the person will get less exercise. But an important point is, replacement knees will improve the quality of life. Chronic pain SUCKS!

He doesn’t want to save lives. Look at the life span data on various ethnic groups. He has no interest in old white people.

Precisely. Don't kick the senior entitlement problem down the road, just eliminate the recipients.

Full disclosure: I turn 65 in August.
