Charlie Rangel: The Tea Party “Cult” is Suffering from an “Illness”

Representative Charlie Rangel (D-NY) recently expressed his puzzlement over the conservative wing of the Republican Party. In between incoherent ramblings and fragmented sentences, the congressman explained that the tea party is a “cult” group that suffers from an apparent “illness”.

“Politics is (sic) changing for me at this late age, to have to deal with a cult-type of group of people,” said the man who recently allocated millions of taxpayer dollars to a New York library named in his honor. (Maybe he’s speaking out of jealousy?)

“When a handful of people [I assume he is referring to the tea party coalition in the House of Representatives] can control a larger number of people, to repeal a law that has been passed by the House, the Senate, and declared constitutional by the courts - and they campaign on the issue that it should be repealed- this is past Civics 101. This is illness,” said the Congressman who has inexplicably remained in office since 1971. (Whoa…Talk about mental illness!)

Watch the video of the congressman taking a stab at coherent political dialogue:

The majority of the American People want obamneycare overturned, and the vast majority of people who are uninsured - those who the law is aimed at "helping" don't want it. Funny how the democrats are all for mob rule except when the mob wants to be left alone.

So, if something is bad (as Obamacare clearly is), it can never be repealed if it has been approved by the Senate, House and the Supreme Court?

Civics 101? Has Mr. Rangel ever heard of Prohibition? Women's Suffrage? Slavery? Segregation?

And when an even smaller group of people can commit federal crimes on a daily basis with no fear of prosecution it says our nation has an illness.

Low IQ Charlie should just keep his mouth shut.
Well, he should be in jail for tax evasion.

Charlie boy, you’re the only one with an illness. It’s called liberalism and it’s mental.

My husband and I are not rich, we are not even middle class. But President Bush’s tax cut did certainly help us. Especially on his retirement check from the army

Ah 'tis the Congressman who is ill...plus pushing Socialism over the Republic for 22 terms in office....making "serving the people of Harlem" a career.....term limits come to mind....the Tea Party of course believes the Original Republic was just fine AND they also believe in the United States Constitution 24/7.....Mr. Rangel only mentions the United States Constitution when it will help him.
