Cairo (AFP) - Egyptian secret police have arrested an award-winning Australian journalist and an Egyptian reporter for the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera channel suspected of illegally broadcasting news harming "domestic security," the interior ministry said.

The arrests come amid a widening crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood of ousted president Mohamed Morsi, which the military-installed government declared a "terrorist organisation" last week.

Al-Jazeera confirmed the arrests, and said police also detained a producer and a cameraman.

Officers of the National Security service raided the broadcaster's makeshift bureau at a Cairo hotel on Sunday, arresting two of the journalists and confiscating their equipment, said a ministry statement.

It did not identify the journalists, only saying one was a "Muslim Brotherhood member" and the other an Australian.

A Egyptian friend of mine says it is clear that Al Jazerra is openly supportive of the Muslim Brotherhood.

And I am convinced that the Muslim Brotherhood clearly is a terrorist organization. Parts of it actually do the acts, other parts plan them, but hide from the responsibility.

Go Sisi!

Is it a coincidence that more forward progress has been made in Egypt since the Obama administration cut their cash infusion?

.........
what people don’t seem to get is that the Muslim Brotherhood was is the primary breeding ground for Al Quaeda.

That the egyptians should turn agains the MB is a huge victory for the US war against terror.

Apparently obama’s support for the MB has been the kiss of death.

Great maybe he can kiss the mullas in iran.
