The Ministerial Committee for Legislation voted Sunday in favor of a bill that would annex the Jordan Valley and place it under full Israeli sovereignty.
Four ministers voted in favor of the draft law, which was proposed Likud MK Miri Regev. Three opposed it.
Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, who is in charge of “peace negotiations” with the Palestinian Authority (PA) attacked the ministers who voted for the bill, and called it “an irresponsible proposal that will harm Israel and isolate it.”
"Some of those who supported the bill would have opposed it, if they had known it would pass,” she added. “They are taking advantage of the fact that I will file an appeal and do the work for them.”
Livni also attacked MK Regev, saying: “I have no respect for the bill nor for its proposer.”
Minister Gideon Saar fired back at Livni, asking her “by what right” she is talking in this way.
The Ministerial Committee for Legislation decides which proposed bills will enjoy the support of the Coalition. Bills it approves are likely to pass in the plenum. However, Livni's appeal means that the the Committee will vote on the bill again in the coming weeks.

However, I worried that once annexed, the Palestinians in the area will want to participate in the Israeli democratic process and if granted would one day take political control of Israel.

They could one day, but “would”? I don’t think so. First, Jewish and Arab population growth rates are moving closer together, and in a decade or so the Jewish population growth rate will outstrip the Arabs’, which has been greatly exaggerated by the PA and leftists. Second, the Jordan valley is only one part of Judah and Samaria. Third, we should invite them to become citizens and participate, as has already been done in Jerusalem since 1967. This actually deters them from doing so, as a matter of Arab pride and what will the neighbors think. Jerusalem has had an upsurge in Arabs applying for Israeli citizenship, because they do not want to be a part of a Palestinian state misruled by the usual gang of thieves.
Has living ever said anything constructive or intelligent? Well past time to send her to do something useful for a change. Away from Jerusalem.

When I first read the headline I thought Idaho might be trying to grab a piece of Oregon.
Send her to the UN. She’ll feel important, and can’t do any more harm there than she’s doing in the Cabinet.
The UN yes a worthless and destructive outfit if there ever was one. But a fate worse than death. Have some mercy on livni. Send her to dig septic tanks in Central African Republic. Great place for her. And less we will have to hear from her too.
So what about the Palestinians living there? Do they become Israeli citizens?
