I’m going to go out on a limb and say this is part of the preparation for another terrorist attack, after which there is going to be another version of the “spontaneous” lie to explain the timing of the attack and the particular set of circumstances that will take place before the attack.
I understand that even without all the digging. I just hate to see this spew from the NYT promulgated in the process. It supports the theory that a law oft repeated becomes the truth.
