The Brits underestimated the colonists and gave the Continental Army the rallying cry they needed to resist. Bunker Hill was the beginning of the end for the Brits in North America.

"I understand why they’re doing it, but I don’t think it’s constitutional,” resident Scott Boccio told WFSB-TV as he was registering his guns.

"I understand why they're putting us on the box cars, but I don't think it's constitutional."

This post of yours, Obadiah, sums everything up better than anything else I have read here, with all due respect to other posters and their excellent posts.

Heh. Well, I won’t conspire to commit illegal acts in a public forum, if that’s what you’re asking...

There will be no fight. Connecticut has started it. In California it begins the First of January. By the end of the year,2014, there will be 10 to 15 more States on the registration bandwagon. Look for another “mass shooting” incident with the shooter using one of the “registered” type implements to occur. Also look for, should there be any organized resistance, child porn to be found on the leaders’ computers. Or things of a similar nature.

The question is not "will I submit to registering", or even "will I submit to confiscation", but rather it is this: "Will I kill them to prevent registration?"

asked...answered...long ago as the dangers to myself and family mounted...

theres a point where self defense takes on a tactically different form than is present when confronted by a simple mugger on the street...

ive prayed that it wouldnt come to that, but if it must, my prayer is that it happens on my watch and that my children can be spared from participation...

tyranical blood-lust is a part of our broken human nature, and as such, there will always be another tyrant/bully that wont stop when asked politely...theyll have to face force and destruction...

Ditto that. I've two teenage sons that I've prayed and prayed would be spared having to fight the battle that my generation should've taken up long ago ........

I don’t know why they have to line up for this.

I’d just ignore it.

My dad still has several unregistered (gasp!) guns from his Maine childhood here in Maryland. We have a couple guns we bought before MD instituted “barrel fingerprinting”. We have shot them up at our western MD house next to my uncle’s farm.

I would gladly acquire these unregistered guns from my dad when he moves on. If I don’t go first from this embolism!

Suppose there is a murder in New Haven and the weapon is a 9 mm. LE knows where all the 9mm’s are in the state, so can they knock on your door and test your gun?

The movie “Stepford Wives” was filmed in CT. Was it a documentary?

If there will be no fight, then haven't we already lost?
If you wait until they're knocking on your door, you've let them choose the battleground and no-one chooses a disadvantageous battleground.

Aye. Given the build-ups we've seen (NSA intel gathering, weapons/ammo-stockpiling, forward-base disbursement [aka "militarization of the police]) and the utter aversion to pursuance of justice (Fast and Furious, Wide Receiver, Benghazi, Obamacare/CGI, Solyndra, etc) I'm thinking only God's hand can prevent bloodshed as the restoration of just governance... and it may be by bloodshed God works (see the book of Esther).

I've prayed that it wouldn't come to that, but if it must, my prayer is that it happens on my watch and that my children can be spared from participation...

I have no children, but that sentiment is one I've always admired; John Adams said something similar in a letter to his wife:

The science of government it is my duty to study, more than all other sciences; the arts of legislation and administration and negotiation ought to take the place of, indeed exclude, in a manner, all other arts. I must study politics and war, that our sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. Our sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history and naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry and porcelain.

Look around you. Four States, Colorado, California, New York, Connecticut. Of the four, only the residents of Colorado fought back. new York has the SAFE Act which I do not know enough details of it to discuss, except I don't believe that it bodes well for the Second Amendment. Both Connecticut and California are proceeding with gun registrations. In it is a Class D Felony not register whatever the law calls for and I am sure that California will have a penalty for failure to register also. Have we reached the point where we value luxury over freedom? I don't know.

At my age, knowing what I know about history, If I lived in either CA or CN and owned guns, I don't think that I would register them, but I can only speak for me.

IIRC, there was a trial-run of using similar tactics to deny justice of those murdered by government agents: Waco, TX.

The dispute they had was over whether or not the Branch Davidians owed some taxes (on guns, IIRC) — the Davidians claimed that they had already paid (or that tax wasn't applicable) and the BATFE (which is known for manufacturing evidence of 'wrongdoing' to include rendering weapons dangerously unsafe breaking components so they technically violate the one trigger-pull, one discharge rule for distinguishing semi- and full-automatic)… that's where the warrant came in, and the raid, and standoff, and finally the mass-murder.

During the congressional investigations, the Davidian's leader (and thus the Davidians, too) was/were accused of being pedophiles and/or polygamists… as if the accusation of something terrible negated any legal rights they had. Moreover, there are laws against polygamy and pedophilia… so if it was the issue, why wasn't that what the warrant was about? Answer: it was rewriting history so that emotionally the Davidians were the bad-guys [who needed killing] and the government agents not murderers, but heroes.

So true, My FRiend, so true. And those same governmental agents have a very large fan club of worshippers on this forum. One of the charter members recently was zotted.

And every fool who followed this unconstitutional law deserves the confiscation which will follow the next ‘incident’.

Sorry to tell you this, but the subPreme Court is only as Constitutional as those holding John Roberts' FBI file. And we see what tune they can make him dance when it suits them to pass along an Unconstitutional law requiring Americans to buy something or be fined. The treachery is not going away over any subPreme Court ruling, when the holders of the pirate Roberts' blackmail file decide top use him again. he dances to their whim, not the Constitution.
