Looks like someone forgot a few details. Like prof. ron karenga and the United Slaves. The shooting death of a couple of black panthers at a UC campus. Torturing women who were thought to be informants agains the United Slaves. Ron’s prison time. Just insignificant little items. Not to mention the collective (i.e. communist) aspects of this farce of a holiday. Not sure, but I thought the Swahili were from east Africa and most of those “rescued” and “resettled” in America came from west Africa after being provided free passage by chiefs from opposing tribes. I’m inclined to cut Prince a little bit of slack on this one. Can you imagine the hubbub if he ignored the fake holiday? The outrage if he were to point out it’s a fake holiday? The press would be drumming for his head on a pike if he so much as mentioned when the holiday was created (the ‘60’s).
