Watching right now. He decentralized the federal govt. and cut waste. Reset the federal govt., and made it work for the people rather than the elite. You can see by the great resistance to the tea party how scared the elite on both sides gets over such a loss of power and money.

Yes. His warning about socialized medicine is pertinent today just as much as it was when he warned us. All of his policies created freedom, liberty, independence, and prosperity. We did not have to fear our government with him in charge.

All of his policies created freedom, liberty, independence, and prosperity. We did not have to fear our government with him in charge. Really??? Check into Reagan's role in gun control in CA, mostly in reaction to black power activists. Those laws, signed by RR, are at the root of where CA is today. Yes, Reagan did lots of good things and had a handle on how government should generally conduct its affairs. He still signed legislation that created the slippery slope for the loss of firearms freedom in CA. He likely had the best of intentions and acted within the context of the moment yet he did not have the gift of perfect prescience - no mortal man does. RR likely was in agreement with the George Washington quote below and may have even used it in speeches:
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.
Yet CA still lives today under that law and its spawn.
