Gun advocates blast Bloomberg’s ‘arrogance of power’

WASHINGTON – A gun-rights leader Sunday blasted Mayor Bloomberg for planning to spend $25 million in next year’s elections to boost gun control, saying Americans reject his “arrogance of power.”

“I’m not sure the amount of money that billionaire Bloomberg has is going to be effective,” Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America, said on “Fox News Sunday.”

He predicted a repeat of this year’s recall election in Colorado, where Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns spent $350,000 backing two gun-control lawmakers who still got booted from office.

“He outspent the candidates that won in Colorado enormously and he lost,” said Pratt. “So I think the message is, ‘We don’t like the arrogance of power. We don’t like the message that we ought to be disarmed as a way of fighting crime.”

“Mayor Bloomberg’s message is wrong and he’s going to continue to lose,” said Pratt.

The mayor’s spokesman responded by touting Hizzoner’s crime-fighting record.

“No lectures please about fighting crime,” said Deputy Press Secretary Kamran Mumtaz. “Under Mayor Bloomberg, New York City is America’s safest big city with murders at an all-time low – thanks to innovative, proactive policing and tough laws that get illegal guns and criminals off our streets.”

Bloomburg is on some sort of power trip to become a dictator and enforce all his goofy ideas on the public.

True. Bloomberg is the same guy who wanted to ban big gulp sized sodas. He’s the epitome of nanny state liberals. He’s going to tell us all how to live our lives. Only he knows what is good for us.

To paraphrase Reagan, Reagan said that there was an elite in this country, in Washington, who sought to plan our lives and tell us how to live. And that these elites truly felt that they could plan our lives better than we can plan our own lives. And Reagan said we should oppose such people. This was true decades ago in Reagan’s time, and is still true today.

Bloomberg and the other aristocrats have armed security guards. I think I read that bloomy is hiring his NYPD guards to work for him after he leaves office.

Police do NOT have a duty to respond to an emergency. If there is a home invasion the average citizen of the socialist republic of new york is unarmed because of “liberal - progressive” defensive weapon restrictions.

Why should police officers have permission to conceal carry off duty and to have weapons in their homes? What would happen if cops in NY just carried a weapon when on patrol and the equipment remained in the station when off duty?

The uproar from the powerful police unions woild be tremendous.

That’s the power of communism. Bloomberg is a perfect example of a sick piece of communists garbage. All Democrats believe the Government has all the answers and you better behave like we want you to. We set the rules.
