Required Auto-insurance liability was a great idea for car owners.
My car has been hit more than a few times and Thank God I was never hurt, and that they had insurance.
I wish I could be as sure as you are. However, when the chips are down, and .gov is on the verge of defaulting, they will be grabbing ANYTHING that they can.
unless millions do so in a coordinated fashion, the government will just make examples out of them and use them as reasons to kick full blown martial law and disarmament plans into full gear. with their russian and chinese ‘friends’ already here to assist.
Putting the money under the mattress looks pretty good now.
Or precious metals stored in your home safe.
Auto insurance is required by each STATE. Not the Fed. The Fed has never before tried to force the citizenry to buy ANYTHING.
“Since the Supreme Court ruled that you can be made to buy government healthcare, anything goes.”
Good point. Looks like the fallout from the Roberts’ decision spans far and wide.
If they try this I will start taking heads.
Will some body please tell me where in the Constitution the gubermint can force anyone to buy anything!
Obamacare.
It’s not in the Constitution but it is reality.
Obama’s got his hands full telling the insurance companies to ignore provision after provision of Obamacare. He will be busy with that.
I have seen this posted about many times before and its more about trying to get workers to save for their retirement than anything else. Bonds is an option.
One thing bankrupting this nation is millions of people in nursing homes, after strokes and such, with medicaid paying for it because they had little or no savings. (Medicare doesn't pay for extended nursing care)
Why? Leave 'em dull says I.
Oh, I agree with you, however, there is a point where many have nothing to lose and will have their eyes opened to the point that talk will turn to action, and for many in the last third of their productive life, taking away their nest egg will force the issue. Whether or not it will be outright physical resistance or more subtle support to those willing to put their lives on the line is the only question, IMO.
I remember about five years ago congress talked about taking them because “that is money just sitting there, why shouldn’t we use it” from that witch speaker of the house.
But its a good idea. Correct?
Ammunition if you can get it.
Whether or not it will spark a “revolution” is debatable, but it will certainly cause money, just like water, to seek its natural level, and that will be outside the US or otherwise away from the tentacles of the IRS. Many nations have become financial husks due to criminal taxation and the resulting flight of wealth to warmer climes.
You can thank the loser, Roberts, for that.
It would be a game changer for sure.
A regime that used the BATF to secretly deal machine-guns to narcos:
Would that regime use the bureau entrusted to protect the finances of consumers to instead STEAL the finances of those consumers...?
Would they?
1000%...i have a nice sized 401K which I SAVED by living within my means, preferring to save for tomorrow rather than spend frivolously today...i’ll be damned, after all the tax I pay, if obama and the rats are going to touch my money...
They won’t need to, it will be done for them as their bank accounts and 401K’s get reduced by fiat
