Congress has itself to blame for its low ratings among the American people. Policymaking is all about choices; it is the calculus of weighing costs and benefits and the distribution of those costs and benefits. In theory, there are lots of policies that can make everyone better off, but they can only be accomplished by redistributing the gains of the policy.

The political system is antiquated, as is the legal system. They both belong to the 1800’s.
It’s a bunch of lawyers, making excuses about how hard it is to do stuff. All the while, they make an enormous amount of money litigating everything that moves. Nothing is their fault and there is nothing they can do about it.
Which is not unlike being the best ice hockey player on Guam.
That’s “hate, loathe, and despise”...on good days.
