Gov. Chris Christie today signed landmark legislation granting thousands of students who grew up in New Jersey but are in the country illegally the benefit of in-state tuition rates at all public colleges and universities.
Christie's signature marks the end of a public tug-of-war over the measure, deemed the "Dream Act", which was pared down in its final days in order for Democrats to gain the governor's approval. Both sides hailed the compromise as a historic achievement.
A spokesman for Christie, Colin Reed, said in a statement "the governor signed the legislation privately earlier today, and there will be a public ceremony to follow in the weeks ahead." He said a date and time for the ceremony has not yet been set.

Definitely Presidential timber!!!! /s
Idiot!
But of course we will vote for him, over Hillary, because of the “lesser than two evils” rut we are in.
Not me. Not any more. And I will do all I can to discourage others.
Showing up for college (or any other civic benefit) as an illegal alien should be cause for deportation, or at least immigration court; it should not be the occasion for favorable treatment relative to US citizens.
When I was a kid, this was called aiding and abetting. Krispy Kreme is an idiot. Break into his house, steal his money and he’ll send you off to college and have his neighbors pay for it. What a maroon.
Christy - What a great American!
Christy - What a great conservatrive!
Christy - What a great big tub of RINO crap!!!
Since this gratuitous benefit is being granted widely to people that entered and reside in the U.S. illegally (a condition that is being rendered meaningless), why does such a thing as “in state” tuition exist at all?
For that matter, should natives of Mexico be deemed foreign in any respect?
I have yet to get one FREEPER to agree, but here is my plan (again) for immigration reform.
Forget ICE. They will NEVER secure the border at any price.
Place a bounty of $1000/head on any illegal alien, payable to whatever legal citizen brings them in. I know rednecks who will make $300,000 per year collecting bounties. The fear of being accosted by armed, real Americans might even cause some illegals to go home on their own.
Ship most of them back to Mexico by train on a daily basis.
Deduct the expense of transporting others from the Foreign Aid payments to their respective homelands.
For $20 Billion or so, you will deport 20 million illegals within a few years.
Give the taxpayers a break with the money saved through disbanding ICE.
Let's see...first gay "marriage" and now illegals...which of these will support him over Hillary! in the general? (crickets)
That’s about a dozen states now.
That idea is even better than my suggestion to request volunteer citizens to guard the border with the incentive of irrevocable carry permits.
Bottom line is that if you wanted to solve the problem, there's a thousand ways to do it. Problem, of course, is wanting to solve the problem.
I guess property taxes in New Jersey aren’t high enough. Need more expenditures.
Not me. That’s how cowards vote.
So, if I want to legally cross STATE lines and go to school in Jersey, I pay a jacked up price. BUT, if I illegally cross the international border, I get a discount. Makes perfect sense to me!
So what IS the perc for being a U. S. Citizen these days?
Foreign nationals get the same college entrance fees.
They get driver’s licenses in some states.
They can have bank accounts and buy just about anything they want.
They earn wages under the table, so we have to support them.
Bend over citizens, YOUR perc coming right up...
