U.S. District Judge Robert J. Shelby
could be a reading comprehension issue ... Utah did not take action. Mr. Shelby is a federal judge.
Hollingsworth v. Perry
“Justice Anthony Kennedy in his dissenting opinion, joined by Justices Alito, Thomas and Sotomayor, expressed concern about the implications of the Supreme Court ruling...”
If people here disagree with the majority on Hollingsworth v. Perry ... they will likely get their chance now to have these cases heard on the merits.
“The Utah attorney general’s office says it plans to issue a statement on the ruling later.”
Roberts was with the dissent in the DOMA case.
Does this mean that in Utah, Bob can marry Joe, and Jim, and George, and Tom, and Bill?
“What on EARTH sends a boy/man to another boy/man? What sickness?”
Merry Christmas
1)The judicial conduct commission may reprimand, censure, suspend, retire, or remove a judge. The commission's decisions are subject to review by the supreme court.
2)Judges may be impeached by a two-thirds vote of the house of representatives and convicted by a two-thirds vote of the senate.
What's the chance of #2 happening?
Given that it is a U.S. district judge, zero.
Yes, you are correct.
I didn’t say that and CERTAINLY didn’t mean that. But, if you don’t know my posts by now, then you will always interpret what I say the worst way.
Constitutions? The 10th amendment? The media doesn’t care. The biological deadends are getting “married”—for some unknown reason that serves no useful purpose.
Well Willard is an uncle and he talked up same-sex marriage until he forced it legal in MASS
not everyone here understands that there is a difference between a federal judge and a state judge. It seems to be an advanced concept.
Sheds light and why this is a lost cause for now.
There are many reasons why it is a lost cause, but to quote Rhett Butler—Lost causes are the only ones worth fighting for.
works for me
i do not know if butler was correct, but i do know that ignorance is not a virtue ... and there is plenty here on these Utah threads. Freeples really think this involves the Utah state government.
You are so right and that is the crux of the problem. Humans are hardwired from birth to crave both a male and a female gender model in their lives. Kids who are intentionally and purposefully denied this will often grow up maladjusted especially when even the gender model they are presented with is not true to form.
