Jindal: 'Messed Up Situation When Miley Cyrus Gets a Laugh, and Phil Robertson Gets Suspended'
Weekly Standard ^ | December 19, 2013 | DANIEL HALPER

Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal criticized the suspension of Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson by network A&E.

“Phil Robertson and his family are great citizens of the State of Louisiana. The politically correct crowd is tolerant of all viewpoints, except those they disagree with. I don’t agree with quite a bit of stuff I read in magazine interviews or see on TV. In fact, come to think of it, I find a good bit of it offensive. But I also acknowledge that this is a free country and everyone is entitled to express their views. In fact, I remember when TV networks believed in the First Amendment. It is a messed up situation when Miley Cyrus gets a laugh, and Phil Robertson gets suspended," said Jindal in a prepared statement.

Miley is the 2nd generation spawn of a Dem politician.
Maybe that’s the secret, LOL.

Happy to read Jindal spoke out; he certainly didn’t have to. I’m so ready to see [any kind of] a showdown between him and Obama.

Miley is the 2nd generation spawn of a Dem politician.

Look at Kevin Jennings and Dan Savage. Two of the most vile, fist F'n freaks of nature, can say what ever and get away with it.

That’s our liberal world for you.

Miley Cyrus shoves her butt into a man’s crotch, and it’s just dancing. Any who take offense are told they are prudes and not with it, and just shut up about it.

Duck Dynasty star quotes Bible verses, expresses disapproval of gay life, etc. and those who take offense seek to banish him. In this case, any who are offended are not told to shut up and get with it, they are instead to be destroyed by the politically correct powers that be.

Miley Cyrus’s words and actions are appealing to the elites who run our media (and nation).

Phil Robertson’s words and actions are not.

It’s just as simple as that.

Her dad is from KY but she is an embarrassment mainly cause of her vulgar lyrics and she don’t look very good nude. Course I prefer grown women to girls. Her dad needs to lock her in the basement for a few years till she matures at least in mind. Merry Christmas and I meant no disrespect to those with sons or daughters or crazy aunts locked in the basement. Sometimes I guess folks do what they have to do.

Not quite....The elites want to keep the people stupid. And by focusing on people like Miley Cyrus, and the Kartrashians....Mission Accomplished.

A brutally telling juxtaposition.

I tip my hat to Jindal for making it. He’s won some points with me. One of my big irritations with leaders/politicians nowadays is how cowardly they have become, and unwilling to make stands on such issues. Politicians weren’t so embarrassingly timid two or three decades ago.

Heck, it harkens back again to Mitt Romney’s jaw-droppingly pathetic response to a reporter who questioned him on his opinion of the Chick-Fil-A protest day. He couldn’t even bring himself to make a generic little statement in support of people standing up for their beliefs. No, he just uttered a wimpy “um, um, that’s not a part of my campaign.” I didn’t think much of Romney to begin with, but with that reaction, I could not have a single shred of respect for him. Probably the final nail in the coffin that led me to refuse giving him my vote.

Governor Jindal is right to make the comparison to the difference in reaction between Miley Cyrus and her lewd act on national TV and the bible-based comments on homosexual behavior by Phil Robertson. Cyrus just laughed off the criticism her lewd ‘dance’ generated and said, in effect, “it was all in fun”. Cyrus is still getting TV gigs. Phil Robertson, patriarch of the Duck Dynasty clan that is a huge TV hit, is vilified by the homo groups. A&E instantly grovel to the gays and suspend Robertson, as if he had committed a terrible crime. His free speech is being effectively censored. It may be legal but it is extremely disturbing and the network deserves all the criticism it is receiving. I hope they re-think who their audience is.

Someone really needs to ambush Mary Landrieu with a microphone and get her to address the controversy on the record.

miley was pushing the image of pedophilia and the pedo-bear (did you miss the bears all around, the little girl and the overly tall man in stripes?) whereas phil was pushing against such deviancy

of course the left will attack phil. i knew that would happen long before he gave the interview.

(it’s like people don’t know the left and what they’re trying to do)
