Officer shoots and kills attacking pit bull

SAN DIEGO — A San Diego police detective shot and killed a pit bull Wednesday in Mount Hope after the canine bit him and an FBI agent.

The officers were doing a probation compliance check at a home on 40th Street near F Street about 9 a.m. when the dog got loose, San Diego police Lt. Eric Hays said.

A woman at the home had put the animal and another dog into a room, Hays said.

When she went to move the animals to another location the pit bull ran outside and charged the officers who were standing in a side yard.

The dog bit the detective on the left leg and when he tried to push it away it bit him on the right hand, Hays said.

The FBI agent then hit the dog with a baton and it also bit him on the hand.

At that point the detective drew his gun and shot the animal three times, Hays said.

The dog, a 13-month-old male, died at the scene with the FBI agent’s glove still in its mouth, the lieutenant said.

The officers were taken to a hospital for treatment of their wounds.

SS...Who knows...maybe some were on probation for counterfeit charges etc...

Maybe they questioned the policies of our black president. No, that would bring a visit from the IRS.

They are checking on every usual suspect everywhere. Would you have the cops leave them alone so they can do their crimes. There are large amounts of people who do crime all the time.

Yep. There is a movement to get him back on the show.

Bring Phil Back

I don't watch the show but I do think it's a shame he (and others) cannot voice his/their opinion without being punished for doing so. My opinion is I understand it is a very popular show, perhaps one of the most popular on cable. If A&E wants to go this route it deserves the same fate as JC Penneys. Promote and defend the gays, who are but less than 2% of the population, and lose your base in the process. Seems rather asinine to me but it's their decision.

“Officer shoots and kills attacking pit bull”

How did DNC chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz escape from her cage? [We could only wish.]

"Compliance Check"

How come that phrase seems that it has a deeper meaning? How come my dog can't do a compliance check on people who come into my house? She knows it's her job. She goes for your hands and arms unless you raise them. Then she goes after your ankles until you stand in a corner. If she seems to think I approve of you, she stands down and lays on the floor next to the stranger. She will then escort them wherever they go when inside the house, doing so very politely.

That may happen. They are a family and as such may stick together. I think I’ve watched the show once. While it is not my thing I understand they are a Christian family with conservative principles. That could be the underlying factor here; the left hates them and wants them off the air.

It had a fresh flea collar, had only bit the one policeman this month, and was turning it’s doggy life around.

It is one thing to bark.
It is another to bite repeatedly.
