I am not interested in rewriting, but getting the truth respected.
I once provided some documentation that refuted something WhiskeyPaPa posted. I thought that would end the matter. Next thing I know he reposted his debunked material on another thread. I called him on it. In reply, he said he was posting to the lurkers. In other words, he was posting to people who might stumble onto the new thread and not know his post had previously been refuted.
I have seen you do that very effectively with some other “experts” who like to post what are essentially lies.
I recall one that absolutely insisted that the “Harriet Lane” was in Florida on April 12, 1861. You corrected him....and it took several postings to expose him....and he went on to say the same lie on another thread.
I like your work.
Hello been too long eh?
Yeah, I’ve been out for surgery. Just got back home today.
Yeah, what's up with that
After all, these guys were all democRATs.
I believe that this story has been thoroughly debunked, but it will probably live forever in some quarters. Apparently one of the faculty, doing some rearranging of his office and hallway moved one or more of the painting that line the hallways. Whether for political or aesthetic reasons, I know not.
What he removed are a small sample of paintings gifted to the college by graduating class. They usually depict some American military historical event and are all done on commission by Don Stivers and a few other artists. With Carlisle Barracks proximity to Gettysburg, Civil War themes have been popular over the years. The walls at Root Hall are packed with these things, none of them are historic portraits.
To see what I’m talking about go here, You can find Lee among them, probably Jackson but I didn’t look closely. Much ado about nothing.
I wish you a speedy recovery.
Rustbucket is the modern day General Lee of the war between states threads.
You just got a well deserved compliment.
Very welcome
You're too kind. More like barely qualified to clean up after his horse, Traveller.
I have visited Traveller's grave site at Washington and Lee College and seen the Lincoln pennies face down on the grave.
I have archived it.
