Some clients of Washington state's Obamacare exchange say they have been incorrectly charged for coverage already, and can't log into the website because it is down, KING 5 News in Seattle reports.
The site allows people to pick their payment date, and Shannon and Josh Bruner told the station last week that they signed up to pay on Dec. 24. They say they were billed early, leaving their bank account $800 in the red.
They were unable to get onto the site to fix the problem because it was down for the second week in a row. The incident raises yet another privacy concern about the healthcare exchanges -- unauthorized access to bank accounts.

No. The site allows people to believe they picked their payment date!
i thought the payment module wasnt coded yet.
And who’ll have to pay for all the bounced checks? Imagine the shock when you discover your checking account has been debited $800? After you’ve sent them out?
Bingo.....if it works then it's a fake site.
This may present a real problem for me. I don’t authorize automatic or ongoing payments from my bank account or credit cards. If I don’t mash the button, the money don’t go. No exceptions.
The Russian Mafia never straightens it out.
If they want me in Club Fed because of that, so be it.
That's a much better situation than I have now.
I have a friend who has alot of stuff auto debited.....of course she is ALWAYS broke because she forgets those payments are gonna be auto debited and they overdraw her account and charge her big fees.
I am with you, I push the button. Except for my health insurance and the auto debit is tied to a small account I keep open for PayPal, etc. there is never over $10 in it and it has no overdraft protection. On the first I transfer my insurance payment into it and walk away.
Thanks Libloather.
I was under the impression that the rates could be raised at any time. If that is an actual provision of law, they are out of luck.
I would like to know about the reputation of a web outfit like Amazon if they did crap like Obamacare does.
The rates are contracted for a year (until the next renewal date) like pretty much any other policy.
Don’t forget that witch said “we have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it.” Bet they wish they read the damn thing now!
Now’s the time to start sounding the alarm again. Everybody remember when you file those taxes at the first of the year and you want that refund deposited electronicly into your bank account.
What does the IRS require? Your bank account routing number.
That is the absolute last organization that I want to have legal access to my bank account.
Sure they can get it some other way but make ‘em work for it.
I got audited last year because I had the audacity to adopt two children and take the adoption tax credit. I received my refund in October. 70% - 80% of adoptive parents were audited, many of them F.R. members.
I’m guessing the 20% - 30% that didn’t get audited were queer adoptive couples and therefore beyond suspicion.
Wow.
I can't believe it! That has always been my philosophy. No exceptions.
So now there are two of us in the U.S.A.
Evidently, your only option is going on their FaceBook page and begging for someone to call you back. LOL! I suppose the yutes think that's really kewl!
