I am sure they will only pick the stories they want that will show violence by criminals, they will not pick stories where guns saved anyone from it.
I could write and tell them how a legal defensive use of a firearm has saved my mother’s life. But I don’t think that is what they are looking for. They want bias, they are not even bothering to pretend they want fair and balanced anymore.
You’re right - the Washington Post isn’t interested in the truth about guns or violence - they’re pushing an agenda.

I think the best rebuttal would be to do a similar event, but with people holding up signs of how many people died in their native country due to gun control.

The Washington Post is celebrating death! Hooray for murder!!
My point was to flood the with fictional stories of ‘gun violence’. Put your creative hat on and you have a fair shot at embarrassing the Washington Post if they pick yours and run it as ‘a real gun violence story’.
