Are we radical enough to win big in 2014? (vanity)
Original content

I am encouraged to see the Tea Party surging nationwide. I think a total Tea Party takeover of the GOP would be the best thing that could happen. But we cannot stop there. We must have the courage of our convictions. We need to be radical.

We need to speak LOUDLY of balancing the budget WITHOUT new taxes (in fact we need to CUT taxes) by the end of 2015. That's right. Not in 20 years or 10 years like Paul Ryan would do. We need to assert a willingness to balance the budget in ONE year. It could be done.

A rapid downsizing of the Fedzilla monster would bring the economy roaring back. But we need to act boldly. We need draconian cuts. MASSIVE cuts.

Medicaid should be gone. Unemployment insurance should be limited to about four weeks. Food stamps... gone. Most federal departments ... disbanded. Social Security should be privatized.

Obamacare is just part of the story. We have to loudly sell a message of radical reform and LIBERTY.

Fire millions of bureaucrats. Sell assets. Give 100% of federal land back to the states. Eliminate the EPA and all federal environmental laws (let the states decide). End the federal minimum wage. In fact, get the feds out of the workplace entirely.

THAT is the message we need to sell. And we need to be prepared to mean it!

We don’t have a plan to help jobs.
We are about to cave on amnesty and government spending.
The website will probably be fixed long before the election.
The press is still controlled by gays.

What we have going for us:
Dissatisfaction with Obamacare.
The wars have continued.
The Obamacare penalty will hit 6 months after the election.

What we will do to ensure we lose:
Focus on cutting entitlements instead of increasing jobs.

The US is a continental nation. One policy cannot fix all. Balance the budget is everyone’s desire, but who will get the cuts and who will get to keep their funding is where the process breaks down. I think the Tea Party should support pushing as much power back to the states and block grant the money back to the state and let the states sort out how to spend it to meet local priorities.
After 80+ years of the New Deal, Americans cannot overnight be weaned off gov entitlements. That is politically not possible despite the desire of most Americans to have a balanced budget. That is reality. What took 80+ years to create can be deconstructed over time. Only way to do it rapidly is overthrow the gov and shoot all supporters of statism and use terror to cower the rest into silence or they leave the country. Then the US can move rapidly in one voice and purpose to balance the budget. Short of that it will be a long process with many setbacks on the way. The other way it could end is financial collapse and national default. Guess DHS and Wall Street elites got that SHTF scenario covered.

I tell you - Kill the Federal Reserve (call it Wall Street Reform) and you absolutely kill Progressive Government and all their progressive, social engineering schemes. Can you imagine a government that has to compete with citizens for real money? Must pay REAL interest rates on their borrowings? That will be required to suffer the immediate market consequences of overspending? That can not monetize debt by printing and quietly steal your wages and savings through inflation? Can you imagine a government where politicians must make real choices on spending priorities?

End the nationalization of interest rates and the money supply - and you will begin to change for the better 1000 other social and political problems as well.

You can’t pay for entitlements without cutting taxes in order to make jobs possible, though. Nice vicious cycle there, because unless you cut the taxes and regulations, no jobs.

We need a return to common sense, responsibility and living like adults.
Nothing radical about living within our means.

We now have stock market welfare, an abundance of people welfare/assistance and tons of government job employment make work welfare.

The problem is that Democrats have planted a cancer in the population of reliance and a lack of self shame.
I would guess most people have in their family at least on person working for the government, or on welfare, on unemployment, or in the stock market liking the stock market welfare.

Any move against the above will be like when Democrats call everyone racists when no one is, but some if it that sticks to non-Democrats as people vote.

We need to some how increase responsibility in life for people, a sense of shame if they do the wrong thing and an understanding that money is made in the private sector and that everything else is a form of welfare dragging us down.

We are also suffering over four decades of left thinking indoctrination in schools.

Good luck to us all, we have a huge task ahead of us.

PS I remember when 1-100 worked in government instead of 1-9. Good luck getting it back down to 1-100 because those employed by the government as with those who are taking pay elsewhere from government all feel entitled to it.

Are we radical enough to win big in 2014?
We need to assert a willingness to balance the budget in ONE year. It could be done.

A rapid downsizing of the Fedzilla monster would bring the economy roaring back.[…] Most federal departments… disbanded.

Yes!

Also, might I suggest four amendments to the Constitution:

Tax Reform Amendment Fiscal Responsibility Amendment
Section I
No tax, federal or state, shall ever be withheld from the wages of a worker of any citizen of either.

Section II
No property shall be seized for failure to pay taxes until after conviction in a jury trial; the right of the jury to nullify (and thereby forgive) this debt shall never be questioned or denied.

Section III
The second amendment is hereby recognized as restricting the power of taxation, both federal and state, therefore no tax (or fine) shall be laid upon munitions or the sale thereof.

Section IV
The seventh amendment is also hereby recognized, and nothing in this amendment shall restrict the right of a citizen to seek civil redress.

Section V
No income tax levied by the federal government, the several States, or any subdivision of either shall ever exceed 10%.

Section VI
No income tax levied by the federal government, the several States, or any subdivision of either shall ever apply varying rates to those in its jurisdiction.

Section VII
No retroactive or ex post facto tax (or fee) shall ever be valid.

Section VIII
The congress may not delegate the creation of any tax or fine in any way.

Section IX
No federal employee, representative, senator, judge, justice or agent shall ever be exempt from any tax, fine, or fee by virtue of their position.

Section X
Any federal employee, representative, senator, judge, justice or agent applying, attempting to apply, or otherwise causing the application of an ex post facto or retroactive law shall, upon conviction, be evicted from office and all retirement benefits forfeit.
Section I
The power of Congress to regulate the value of the dollar is hereby repealed.

Section II
The value of the Dollar shall be one fifteen-hundredth avoirdupois ounce of gold of which impurities do not exceed one part per thousand.

Section III
To guard against Congress using its authority over weights and measures to bypass Section I, the ounce in Section II is approximately 28.3495 grams (SI).

Section IV
The Secretary of the Treasury shall annually report the gold physically in its possession; this report shall be publicly available.

Section V
The power of the Congress to assume debt is hereby restricted: the congress shall assume no debt that shall cause the total obligations of the United States to exceed one hundred ten percent of the amount last reported by the Secretary of the Treasury.

Section VI
Any government agent, officer, judge, justice, employee, representative, or congressman causing gold to be confiscated from a private citizen shall be tried for theft and upon conviction shall:
  a.   be removed from office (and fired, if an employee),
  b.   forfeit all pension and retirement benefits,
  c.   pay all legal costs, and
  d.   restore to the bereaved twice the amount in controversy.

Section VII
The federal government shall assume no obligation lacking funding, neither shall it lay such obligation on any of the several States, any subdivision thereof, or any place under the jurisdiction of the United States. All unfunded liabilities heretofore assumed by the United States are void.

Section VIII
The federal government shall make all payments to its employees or the several states in physical gold. Misappropriation, malfeasance and/or misfeasance of funds shall be considered confiscation.
Commerce Clause Amendment Senate Reform Amendment
Section I
The federal government shall directly subsidize no product or industry whatsoever, saving the promotion the progress of Science and useful Arts.

Section II
The federal government shall never prescribe nor proscribe what the Several States teach. Neither the federal government nor the several states shall ever deny the right of parents to teach and instruct their children as they see fit.

Section III
The congress may impose tariffs, excise taxes, and customs duties on anything imported or exported, provided that they are applied uniformly and in no manner restrict, subvert, or circumvent the second amendment.

Section IV
No law may impose prohibitions of any sort on the commerce between the several states due to the item itself.
Section I
The seventeenth amendment is hereby repealed.

Section II
The several states may provide by law the means by which their senators may be removed or replaced.

See my Post 10, it has an amendment which would kill the federal reserve w/o touching them.

Its time for Fraudulent Republicans (aka, RINO’s) to go. Remember the movie Braveheart? The rebels remind me of Tea Partyers who want freedom, and to resist oppression.

Robert the Bruce’s leprous father reminds me of Fraudulent Republicans who don’t mind about selling out their county and principles to “go along to get long” just so they can keep their fake dignity.

Robert the Bruce reminds me of the average Republican who is unsure about what to do, and will find himself just the same...in the end ashamed should he find himself going along with the establishment Republican train wreck.

Then of course there the Royal Crown who in there quest to oppress and take over their lives of others reminds me of guess who? You got it. The Liberals.

Conservatism = radicalism. Come on, Man. National elections are won by winning over the voters (maybe 20%)in the center.

The center is just now realizing that they were conned by a smoooth talker who sneaked in lousy radical leftist plans. I don’t think they’ll be conned again by openly radical ideas from the right.

Agree.

The 17th not only enabled, it made certain the concentration of power in Washington, DC. Make no mistake, the 17th Amendment was no minor tweak. The Wilsonian progressives knew exactly what they were doing.

With power so close at hand, it was only a matter of time before a demagogic president with despotic ambitions and enormous will arrived. Undivided power begets undivided tyranny. Always.

The 17th Amendment guaranteed the rise of an Obama.

Until the structure of vertical separation of power is restored, until authority is shared once again among 50 states, our slide into a police state is inevitable.

I'd pretty much go along with all of that.

One change I'd make is

To guard against Congress using its authority over weights and measures to bypass Section I, the ounce in Section II is approximately 0.15791248 mol of gold.

Using the mole is better than using grams or ounces, because it describes the number of atoms being measured. What does an ounce of gold weigh on the ISS space station? A mole of gold will be the same amount no matter where in the universe you calculate it.

If you look at a periodic table gold has an atomic mass of 196.97g mol^-1.

"You can’t pay for entitlements without cutting taxes in order to make jobs possible, though. Nice vicious cycle there, because unless you cut the taxes and regulations, no jobs."

Wrong. You can eliminate all taxes and all regulations and you still won't stop the offshoring because the wages in communist China are a mere fraction of ours.

The way to stop and reverse the offshoring is to restore the import tariffs. You can drop individual and corporate income taxes by the amount you raise through tariffs to keep tax revenues neutral.

Gov't revenues will soar anyway, as 23% of our population goes back to work. Income taxes will soar by almost 30% (23% go back to work/77% working now).

Safety net programs will fall naturally as people go back to work.

The real "vicious cycle" is thinking that you have to cut the entitlements while not doing anything about employment. That will lead to even more unemployment, more business failures, and eventually a revolution. And not a revolution that improves democracy. We'll end up with a dictator or a communist government.

I’m not arguing that cutting entitlements without fixing unemployment is in any way tenable. Notwithstanding, you can’t get businesses re-kick-started in the USA without getting rid of the highest corporate tax on the planet. And only when you re-establish the USA’s former manufacturing base can you think of re-establishing tariffs.
