One of Obama’s top Secret Service agents allegedly commits suicide amidst cheating investigation

One of President Obama’s top Secret Service agents has died in an apparent suicide. Rafael Prieto, 47, was a married father who had confessed to cheating with a Mexican woman for nearly six years, a secret under investigation for allegedly violating agency rules that require disclosure of relationships with foreign nationals. A member of the Secret Service for more than two decades assigned to the agency’s most prestigious post as the President’s protective detail, Prieto was found inside a car parked in a Northwest Washington, D.C. apartment complex garage last week, dead of what authorities believe to be carbon monoxide poisoning.

His affair came to light in the wake of a separate incident that rocked the Secret Service this spring, when over a dozen personnel — supposed to be preparing for Obama’s visit to Cartagena, Colombia — were implicated in a prostitution scandal that went public when one agency employee refused to pay a prostitute for her services and started arguing with her in a hotel hallway.

An employee who worried the Secret Service was not uniformly enforcing its rules after that incident revealed Prieto’s relationship, which was not connected to the prostitution scandal, The Associated Press reported.

As a part of the agency’s investigation into Prieto’s relationship, his access to Secret Service facilities and his security clearance had been suspended, a law enforcement source told CBS News.

This is from November but I hadn't heard about it and didn't see it posted when I did a search. If it has been posted previously, my apologies.

Brave strong men like those in the Secret Service do not suicide simply because they are under investigation over an alleged affair.

Did deeper and we might find that here was no affair and the Secret Service was about to disclose details about Obama.

a secret under investigation for allegedly violating agency rules that require disclosure of relationships with foreign nationals.

But it's OK for government to wink and nod, and in fact aid and abet tens of millions to enter the country illegally, during war time yet, as they undermine and compromise our entire system.

“”Did deeper and we might find that here was no affair and the Secret Service was about to disclose details about Obama.””

Color me skeptical also. I don’t believe suicides happen in DC any more than they do in Chicago or Arkansas.....

The Assistant Special Agent in Charge for the president’s Secret Service detail believed to be involved in a long-term affair with a Mexican woman committed suicide a day after failing a national security polygraph and being stripped of his clearances and access, according to sources.

Rafael Prieto, a supervisor on President Obama’s Secret Service detail, was found dead last weekend in the passenger side seat of his roommate’s car in the garage of their Washington D.C. residence, clutching a photograph of his two children, multiple sources told FoxNews.com. The suicide came a day after a Do Not Admit email sent agency-wide for Prieto was sent by the Security Clearance Division.

A senior law enforcement official confirmed Prieto’s clearance had been pulled, calling it “standard practice” for an employee going through an “administrative process.” The official said the investigation “was related to clarifying a long-term ongoing relationship with a foreign national.”

Sources have told FoxNews.com that Prieto was given a polygraph because of an alleged extramarital affair with a Mexican national — a strict violation of Secret Service policy. The sources said Preito had been carrying on the affair for several years, and said his relationship was well known within the Service. The head of Obama’s Secret Service detail, Vic Erevia, had previous knowledge of Prieto’s relationship, according to sources.

Sources, though, have told FoxNews.com that Prieto had brought the woman to Secret Service functions attended by Secret Service supervisors. Among the events she attended was a party for Dennis Martinez-Ramos, then the head of the Orlando field office, at a suburban Washington-area cigar bar earlier this year. According to multiple sources who attended, Erevia was also at that party.

BS. They were going to fire him:

he threatened to out the low down on the down-low activity of the West Wing Wahabbi, and presto, they gave him the carbon monoxide valet service treatment.

L.D. Brown, multi-culti chapter.

Why are you repeating the same story from a different source? It doesn’t become more believable because there’s more than one source for a story. How many sources were there for Vince Foster’s “suicide?” Or the dozens from Arkansas and Chicago during “you know who” days.

This is exactly how Kevin Spacey's character Congressman Frank Underwood got rid of Congressman Peter Russo in "House of Cards."

Didn’t Secret Service agents used to be honorable? Several have been involved in scandals since Obama took over. Prostitutes, affairs, drunk. Does he corrupt everyone he comes in contact with?

I agree with you.

Who’s ever heard of a guy committing suicide over an affair?

Hell, if fired, he’d have made a million with a tell-all book on “protecting” Benghazi Barry! Wouldn’t have had to worry about retirement or paying alimony or child support.

I just pray he wasn’t...ya know... Reggie Love’s stunt-man.
