It should be gender-neutral. Establish ONE set of standards. EVERYONE must meet the standards, or hit the road.

Then no special accomodations. Everyone eats the same food, poops in the same place, get the same discipline.

That obviously won’t happen. The current set of regulations was created so they would be able to say “Look! we have this many women!”

To: I want the USA back

The Army long ago abandoned sanity when it came to performance standards. In the 80’s while I was in the Infantry, the PT test was tilted to “gazelles” who could run like the wind. The problem was the test then promoted slight of figure barely able to lift the required load type of troops. Nothing in the PT test resembled the actual requirements of the job. Those that could actually do the work required (lifting, carrying weight) were not able to run as fast as others and were thus penalized during promotions. For example:

No force marches with 80+ lbs rucks plus weapons, vests, etc
No lifting of weight (ammo crates to the top of the PC)
No low or high crawling for 100 yards
No buddy carry, no pull ups, etc

Just push-ups, sit-ups and a run

I am of the opinion that there should be three different tests based upon the classification of the MOS and/or unit. Combat / Combat Support / Support

Combat units will have a lot more strength / general muscle (less running) endurance with tests for sprinting

Combat support would have more of general testing plus strength testing

Support units would have just the general testing of what they have now.
