Could an "Arab Spring" type of upheaval be brewing in the United States? Is the frustration and anger toward our dysfunctional politics and economics beginning to reach a tipping point where young folks begin to push for profound change? Has our democracy become so broken that citizens are going to find creative avenues to express their feelings? Will we pass through the holidays and winter of our dysfunction to arrive at a spring of change? I sense a movement of social unrest growing strongly and quietly towards our own version of the Arab Spring.
Let's take a look at some of the factors that might be pointing in this direction. This past week the GDP showed very positive growth (up 3.6 percent in the third quarter), corporations are booking huge profits, the stock market is at an all time high, and we have more multimillionaires and billionaires than ever before. So why does 70 percent of the country believe the United States is off on the wrong track? Why is trust of our economic, governmental and political institutions at a historic low? Why is the poverty rate back to a historical high?
For more than a generation, the middle class of this country has not seen any significant improvement in their financial situation. In fact, when you factor in inflation, the majority of the country has actually seen a decline in their economic status over the past 25 years...

This fool slept through the Tea Party. But it’s coming again, times a thousand.
Can't listen to these morons when they can't keep simple things straight.
1a) Liberalism does not work. All the evidence is in, and the Left has failed. The existing institutions are unresponsive. The government will not help you -- the government only helps itself. When the people say "enough is enough" they will be rejecting the Left.
1b) I'm pretty sure this guy meant this as an attack on Conservatives and an explanation of why Conservatives have failed.
2) I have no idea what a "a forceful and non-violent way" would look like.
Let’s make it simple for ABC, the unrest is because we have had it with the federal government dictating how we must live our lives while the constitutionally elected government allows the unelected government to enslave us. We will not allow that. Clear ABC?
I think I said it best:
“A people unwilling to use extreme violent force to obtain or preserve their liberty deserves the tyrants that rule them.”
This means both parties, we are getting just what we deserve and they are not gonna just walk away from stealing our wealth and with it our liberty.
No significant improvement in their financial situation.
With Democrats in power for the last five years it’s expected.
Not one of Obama’s acts have helped they only fed the good old boy club.
I suspect this “Spring” will take place in early November.
He’s calling for even more communism. Since it hasn’t worked yet, more would be terrific to this clown.
Recently polling shows these young Americans (along with other citizens) have gone from overwhelmingly supporting President Obama to now incredibly upset about another politician who said one thing and did another. And the economics and dreams of their own life has been set back once again.Problem is, the entire presidency of Obama has been about saying one thing and doing its opposite, apart from the promise with respect to the fundamental transformation of the country.
Bring it, ya pinko commie b@st@rds! We’ll put you down.
What’s happening Jan 14?
Yep. This time it's called the "TEA Party". The people are figuring out they're being used as nothing but tax slaves to keep the politicians living in absolute power and luxury.
He just woke up after a 6 year sleep.
Of course he means the proletariat. They have been incited to this by obastard telling them for the last 6 years how unfairly treated and entitled they are.
Sow the wind and reap the whirlwind.
From your lips to God’s ear.
Whatever’s on its way, you can safely bet your last nickel the communist propaganda television networks will be the last to notice the obvious.
