So because she’s a lock-step, jack-booted drone with her master in the FedGov it makes everything okay.

School districts that don’t take Federal Money do not have to obey their silly a$$ rules.

Arizona has quietly passed a law allowing school districts to opt out of the federal school lunch program. While this doesn’t seem to make sense on the surface, the SLP has been larded with so many unrelated demands by the federal government, that the costs of using it are approaching the value of the money given.

So, if a school district can muster enough funds to buy lunches for their kids, they can kiss off thousands of other federal demands and save a fortune.

"ease fear that it represents a federal takeover of education..."

Fine. Now, about those fears that government schools are being taken over by rent-seeking unions, bureaucrats, corporatist overlords and others with priorities other than the competence of future American citizens.

Excuse me?

School administrators and state and local governments get used to that money, and they have found that the strings attached to it never end. They should go cold turkey and refuse it.

the problem with Messaging by Conservatives about Common Core it this - results of tests by students who have taken it are 30% lower than under NCLB!! It is the facts of outcome that are the true marker of it’s value, this is being said by someone that heard all the crap that went on in the Houston, TX schools with this garbage call education reform. MESSAGE MESSAGE MESSAGE is like the old real estate motto. Libs are so much better at message because they have been doing it in college, movies and MSM for 40 years.

The headline appears to be a lie.

This isn't Fallin's character.

I think the story is really about the Republican Governor's Association's counter to Common Core, but the AP had to turn it into a propaganda story for the latter.

I got a poll call Wednesday asking if I supported Janet Barressi, Supt. Of Educ., and if I supported common core. Someone is polling on the subject. I hear Barressi has a challenger, a Republican challenger. I wonder if he is a Tea Partier? I am disappointed in Fallin, she is also or maybe already has, bringing in Christie to help raise funds for her reelection, when she doesn’t even have a Democrat challenger.
