At the "Fast Food Forward" protest on Thursday, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) demanded that Pres. Obama sign an executive order bypassing Congress and unilaterally raising the federal minimum wage. Rep. Ellison told the crowd that they should join him in demanding that Pres. Obama skip seeking Congressional approval and raise the minimum wage on his own - and that he sent the president a letter on Wednesday presenting his demand:

"We in Congress will try to raise the minimum wage. We got opponents on the other side of the aisle who say that there shouldn't be no minimum wage. So, we are in difficulty fighting these guys. "But, we know, at the executive level, an executive order can change the situation. We demand it, right now. Mr. President, sign the executive order. We demand this federal worker work reform, federal contractors. Give the pay raise, the livable, fair wage. Let's do it now. I gave him a letter to this effect, yesterday." As Ellison walked off stage, the crowd chanted: "Sign the executive order!"
Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.)..
Tells me all I need to know. ANother “frozen brain” from the “state of confusion”.
“He should be immediately censured and expelled from Congress.”
He and at least 199 other House members.
Ellison loves him some executive fatwahs.
Just like the Roman Senators begging Caesar to be their dictator...
All this is really frightening. A slippery slope with alligators at the bottom. If a Republican president goes the E.O. route, this will signal the Dems that this is the new normal.
Closer and closer and closer to civil war we creep...

Just to add that its hard to say how 2016 election will be right now.
But certainly Dems will take a beating next year 2014 and that means Dems in congress will be reduced for Obama’s last two years maybe even lose the Senate.
I suggest we pile on and get the most enjoyment out of that we can.
After all, only 9 to 12 months agao Dems were gloating about Obama’s victory and popularity and predicting that GOP would be punished for defying his demands.
I remember it vividly.
