US to allow eagle deaths _ to aid wind power
Associated Press ^ | December 6, 2013 | DINA CAPPIELLO

The Obama administration said Friday it will allow companies to kill or injure eagles without the fear of prosecution for the lifespan of (a) wind farm. An investigation by The Associated Press earlier this year documented bald and golden eagles being killed by the giant, spinning blades of wind turbines. Obamalaw "reluctance" to prosecute such cases (while keeping) the scope of the eagle carnage secret.

This Interior Department sanction, " is not a program to kill eagles. is about conservation." John Anderson, director of the Wind Energy Assoc. Interior Department refuses to release any information.

Each of the thousands of US wind farms turbines, many taller than 30-story buildings, with spinning rotors as wide as a passenger jet's wingspan and the blades rotating at up to 170 mph at the tips, create tornado-like vortexes.

PS: Another AP investigation recently showed that corn-based ethanol blended into gasoline has proven far more damaging to the environment than the government acknowledges.

Tell me..if there was a Republican in the WH would this be an issue.

I’m not a fan of O (but I am of eagles) and honestly the reflexive opposition to anything O does by the GOP is stupid.

As a conservative I ask how many eagles may be killed, how many are killed at coal, nuclear or other sites, is there a difference and is it significant...

I could care less about the latest talking point I have a great interest in real facts but neither party has developed any leaders since they were high school let alone even nominally competent care takes of the national treasure.

Politics today is the same game these folks have played since eight grade. Who gives a sh*t about eagles or anything else..it about getting elected/reelected and living high on the public dole

Any possibility of anybody organizing a serious boycott of corn and corn products in the US over ethanol? I mean, I may not be able to live without gasoline but I could in fact live without corn.

Bird chopping is a visible problem. There is also a problem of the infrasonic emissions from the turbine blades. There is also the matter of transmitting the generated power to the end user. The same green weenies that want wind power will make sure the transmission lines to deliver it can not be built.

The bottom line is Obama is shoveling more tax dollers to his buddies with no care for whether it represents any real value.

How does an eagle get killed at a coal or nuclear site?

How many animals have died due to hydraulic fracturing? Probably an infentisimal amount compared to these millions of bird deaths.

We need bats and eagles to keep down things that prey on US.

If these birds were covered in oil, the liberals would be screaming and they’d be plastered on TV every night and Obama would be at that oil spill right quick. But they have to keep up the pretense that global warming is real in order to stay rich, so wind it is.
