Dozens of people gathered outside Dunkin Donuts and McDonald's locations Downtown on Thursday morning to protest low wages as part of a national campaign energizing fast-food workers.

Carrying placards and shouting slogans such as “No justice, no doughnuts,” about 75 people rallied in front of the Dunkin Donuts in Market Square and the nearby McDonald's on Stanwix Street.

The actions are part of push by labor unions, worker advocacy groups and Democrats to raise the federal minimum wage of $7.25. President Obama says he would back a minimum wage of $10.10 an hour, and on Wednesday addressed income equality in a speech.

“No justice, no doughnuts,”

That's the best you can come up with? Now I know why you're making minimum wage.

Fine. Go find a job that pays more. Who says they have to work there?

The amnesty crowd keeps telling us that no Americans will take those low paid jobs and we need illegals to do them instead, so where is the problem?

Protest on MSNBC right now

They can probably make a lot more working for Acorn or the government. No qualifications required for either job except for the ability to be dishonest.

The price of a big mac doubles. The price of everything doubles. The businesses that can hire illegal immigrants to do the job for cash under the table at less than minimum wage will operate that way.

Jobs disappear, purchasing power declines, and just maybe this triggers the hyper-inflation that’s been building out there ever since the Fed started papering over the deficits with “Quantitative Easing.”

Smart move, commie unions. Hope it works out for you.

“...push by labor unions...” Sure - because many of their contracts are a multiple of minimum wage. Raise the minimum by $2 and I get $6 more!

And they dishonestly cloak it in “concern for the poor”.

I HATE liars!

If they were smart enough to have made the signs they are carrying around they would already be qualified for a better paying job. Reminds me of the video “Read a Book”.

I visit a fast-food joint about once a year. Fire the strikers and hire more illegals, the libs seem to be in love with.

This whole “living wage” strike nonsense is primarily being orchestrated by the SEIU. And we know that the SEIU is the Democrat's shock-troop union.

There is a coordination of effort here between Democrats and their shock troop union. Obama and Democrats are badly losing public as real “working people” are getting hammered by Obamacare. So, the Democrats trot out the well worn strategy of increasing the minimum wage in a Kabuki effort to show that Democrats care for “the little guy” and to try and create separation from those evil, rich Republicans who hate the working man, and grandma, and puppies.

A few months ago Obama wanted to raise the minimum wage to about $9, now suddenly he wants to raise it to over $10 an hour.

This is all Democrat political theatre using the thugs at the SEIU. How about creating some jobs!!

“This is Occupy McDonalds. Coordinated from the White Hut”

That particular McDonalds was recently busted for being a major drug selling site. I’m thinking that the workers were and probably still are making much more than minimum wage on their “happy meals”.

If I was the owners of these establishments, I would thank the protesters for letting me know just how unhappy they were to work for me and I would promptly fire them. That way they would be free to go and pursue a job that paid what they thought they deserved.

By doing this, I would be making room to employ those that are grateful to have a job.

Question. How many of them actually work at the restaurants discussed?

Followup: How many of them actually work, at all?

When the media says “hundreds” in this context it means a couple of dozen. When they say “dozens” it means less than 20. Not much of a protest here.
