How Obama can bypass Tea Party Congress (and raise fast food worker wages)

The White House has offered “no response” to a months-old call from congressional Democrats to bypass Congress and use executive action to raise workers’ wages, the co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus told Salon Tuesday afternoon.

“It wasn’t responded to,” said Rep. Raul Grijalva, D-Ariz. “I mean, the response would have been, ‘We’re working on it, we’re looking into it,’ ‘We feel it’s a good idea,’ or, ‘No, we’re not going to do it.’ Any of those is a response. We received none of that.” Grijalva pledged that, starting with a Thursday rally at the National Air and Space Museum, congressional progressives would become “much more public and much more insistent” in pressing the president to act. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Rep. Raul Grijalva tells Salon that House Democrats are asking "why the hell he just doesn't do it!"

Can't Hussein lower insurance premiums the same way?

A couple more states going Right to work would make a dent.

With Raul Grijalva involved....it means only Illegal Aliens will get a raise. Grijalva is so La Raza Mestizo Hispanic Racist that he would push something like this

Anyone notice the connection between the push for Illegal Alien Amnesty and raising fast food workers wages? Nothing like getting double Klanned by the Mestizo/Hispanic KKK

These lefties actually believe Obama can tell McDonald’s how much to pay it’s employees. Hell, they may be right. He’s gotten away with everything else he’s done.

No where in the article does it state Obama intends to bypass Congress....on minimum wage laws....though the title implies that...

Wishful thinking on the libtards at Salon....

He can issue a EO which affects only government contracted fast food employees...2 million of them...

Obama is an idiot. Raising the min wage will have a ripple effect and prices will rise leaving min wage works with the same buying power or worse less buying power.

But the fast food people are just a prop. Obama does not give two poops about them.

Union contracts are tied to minimum wage. This is just a pay off to his union buddies to settle them down about the costs of obamacare.

Leftists don’t even try to hide their longing for Obama to act as an all-powerful “Dear Leader”, a dictator who can issue proclamations on a whim from on high that become the only “law” of the land.

So, Dear Leader will issue an Executive Order commanding all fast food employers to pay their employees $15 per hour? OK. The next day, the employers lay off 50 percent of staff and go automated.

The GOP should wait for the dems to propose their minimum wage increase to $9 an hour and then accuse the dems of being way too cheap and insisting on $10 an hour.

executive orders apply to the organization of the government

they are not laws.

These people want a dictatorship.
