Another advantage of making Korean easier to learn (read anyway) than Japanese (by a good margin) and Chinese (by gigantic margin) was when they started writing/reading from left to right and across the page instead of down in columns. (granted you can still find the old styles around).

Sounds like a prudent move on their part ...... but still within their purview. If they want to spell "San Francisco" in Korean as "AXOLOTL", then that's their right and privilege.

But the Chicoms haven't the authority to give English-speakers lectures on using Pinyin orthography when writing in the Queen's English. Or even Fulton Fish Market English.
