Democratic Colorado state senator resigns to avoid recall over gun law

A Democratic Colorado state senator resigned Wednesday to avoid a possible recall election over a controversial gun control law that led to the ouster of two of her colleagues earlier this year.

Sen. Evie Hudak, who has represented a district that includes Denver’s western suburbs since 2008, announced her resignation less than a week before opponents planned to submit petitions to recall her.

Calling the decision “difficult,” Hudak said she decided to resign to protect the new gun control legislation and to ensure her constituents would not have to pay for a special election.

Well! I am proud of our CO friends. She knew what was coming. Gun Grabbers BEWARE of the CO Hunters. Smoke em.

Now, does this mean that the Governor will appoint her replacement? If so, we know what type of replacement he will pick.

CO Gov. ChickenPooper MUST GO>

Actually, I think the Dem Senate will choose the replacement, so it’s even worse. As I note on another thread on this topic, what can CO conservatives do to retain momentum now?

Can they recall the appointee, overruling the Governor? Can the recall another Senator?

So I guess soon we’ll be hearing the MSM calling her a “Quitter” eh?

I say CO should start a recall against the replacement. Even if it’s only symbolic.

“KDVR reports that by resigning, Hudak ensures that a Democrat will be appointed in her seat and the party will retain its one-seat majority in the Senate, which they would have lost if Hudak was successfully recalled.”

Not sure she tied to hide. But she is as sorry as her husband. She ran on her own name not his. Everyone knew though.

I greatly respect the poor Hondurans they have had to put up with a lot of crap. Especially from Obozo. There is a great pic if I can find it that illustrates it well.

I watched closely this whole sordid mess when the removed Zelaya.

You nailed it. Governor Chickenchoker hates gun rights people & will appoint a barking moonbat to take Hudak’s seat. Sure as shootin’.

Could not find the pic. They have scrubbed the web removing it. At one time it was plentiful, even the illustrator himself removed it form his website.

It was 4 parrots 3 of which had commie signs, squaking “Restore the dictator in Honduras” And the 4th parrot is Obama with his logo, chiming in the same song.

If I can find a copy I will send the link later. I probably still have the pic somewhere. It was very hard to find the last time I looked. It was only left on an obscure site.

“Hudak said she decided to resign to protect the new gun control legislation”

Ooooooooo...Sacrifice. If they were going to recall her
over this legislation then what would stop them from
recalling the chump that replaces her?

Isn’t the recall for the position versus the polidiot poser (by name) specifically ? Just asking as I’m not sure of the process.....

Something doth smell about this raunchy rat volunteering to do “anything”.....Socialist Skank Stank of the nth degree here IMHO . Caution !
