Secretary of State John Kerry tried Sunday to rally support for a six-month deal to freeze Iran's nuclear program in the face of lukewarm reaction from congressional allies and hostility from critics.

Lawmakers took to the airwaves Sunday morning to question whether the deal would work, with some suggesting that the Obama administration had made a strategic miscalculation.

Sen. Bob Corker (R., Tenn.), the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee," expressed skepticism about the deal on "Fox News Sunday," saying "I think we all greet it with skepticism." He said that the arrangement suggested that Iranian officials "view this administration as weak," and "see this as their window of opportunity to negotiate with an administration that has shown that it really doesn't have a lot of the intestinal fortitude that other administrations have had."

In a sign of the tension with Congress, the Obama administration's Democratic allies offered only tepid support for the deal. Many Democrats left open the possibility that Congress should still tighten sanctions. In general, Congress believes that the current sanctions are what brought Iran to the negotiating table in the first place, and lawmakers recall how the Obama administration fought off the last round of sanctions in 2011, even those now seen as bolstering its negotiation position.
"I think this is a marginal improvement," said Rep. Steny Hoyer (D., Md.), the House minority whip, on CBS's "Face the Nation."

Every Republican should say these three letters.....”D-O-A!”
Exactly!
I tried to listen to Kerry’s announcement of this “deal” last night on TV. He sure does like the sound of his own voice! He droned on so long that we turn it off. Unbelievable.
I wouldn't believe this even if the administration had credibility, which it doesn't (and that's the understatement of the decade).
Make it very clear, make it very clear, make it very clear. Those words seem to be mandatory talking points for this administration while they do everything in their power to do the opposite. Forget what is clear and look for the lies.
It’s a good and telling picture, but one would hope Obozo gets treated more like Wilson and his Versailles treaty than like Chamberlain and the Munich agreement.
Well, he fought in Viet Nam after all.
The only public support seen for Traitorkerry’s plan are the fifth column media skanks and buttboys.
Horrendus deal for everyone, except radical muslims and their sympathizers.
They've worked with Kerry for years in the Senate. Even the Dems know he's just a blowhard.
Plus, everyone knows they're rushing this thing to get the headlines off of Ocare.
I say whatever BeBe says...
What role does Congress play? Is this a treaty that requires ratification by 2/3 of those senators present? Does congress limit itself to discussions of voting whether to impose new sanctions, requiring a majority in both houses with the threat of a veto by the president? Do they have to vote on whether to repeal existing sanctions, which would require a majority in but houses?
I have been trying to find an article explaining the procedural posted and had not yet been successful.
Peace in Our Time!
he lets them keep building their nuclear bombs and ICBM missiles to deliver them to us
he throws in 8 BILLION of our American tax dollars as a FREE gift
his boss continues to protect the IslamoNazi nuke factories with our great USAF
and Kerry is trying to “rally support” for this ???
Give us a break, John. You’ve done your big, dangerous sell-out of America. Now, give us a break. We do NOT have to stand up and cheer you for it.
Go home and polish your hero medals.
If you like your healthcare plan you can keep your plan, period!
Pray America is Waking
"What we've accomplished is we're given Iran time to finish building their nuclear bombs. Iran only needed 6 or 7 months to finish the task... Our concern was Israel would try to stop them before they had the capability to kill millions of people. Now, thanks to Obama - Israel's hands have been tied and Iran promised not to talk about Benghazi. Iran's assured us that without Israel in the area there will be peace in the Middle East... period."
Anyone feel 'rallied'?
