FTC Complaints Against Sean Hannity Charity Freedom Concerts (old news?)
Me ^ | 2010 | vanity

Posted on 11/22/2013 7:53:42 PM PST by Baynative

This is over three years old and I am posting it because I never heard of it before. I was directed to this article by someone I'm debating with on another website.

I hope to get some feed back from people who know about this. If it is true - I'm appalled and my appreciation for Hannity is going straight to the crapper.

I am quoting from several sources, all of which cannot be used for original posts. But I am eager to learn of either truth or disproof of these allegations.

Debbie Schlussel:
"...there’d be a lot more money every concert to go to the cause if Hannity didn’t demand–and get–use of a Gulfstream 5 plane to fly him and his family/entourage to the concerts; a “fleet” (that’s the word the guy used) of either Cadillac or Lincoln SUVs for him and his family/entourage; and several suites at really expensive hotels for him and his family/entourage. The promoter apparently values Hannity’s star demands at well over $200,000 per event. The source says he heard that Oliver North pulled Hannity aside at one of the concerts and told him that this had to stop. But that may mean that, from now on, Hannity has to fly on a G4 instead of a G5, gets only a few luxury SUVs, and two or three suites.

"For the last several years, Sean Hannity and the Freedom Alliance “charity” have conducted “Freedom Concerts” across America. They’ve told you that they are raising money to pay for the college tuition of the children of fallen soldiers and to pay severely wounded war vets. And on Friday Night, Hannity will be honored with an award for this “Outstanding Community Service by a Radio Talk Show Host” at Talkers Magazine’s convention.

But it’s all a huge scam. ~snip~

"I began investigating these claims, and lo and behold, I discovered that Freedom Alliance gives very little money to the children of slain troops to pay for college and even less to wounded troops. The stories of injuries to troops and how much Freedom Alliance gives them–$200 for a soldier from a poor neighborhood who lost three limbs–is heartbreaking. Soldiers with traumatic brain injuries, severe wounds to the face from disfiguring burns and explosions, and multiple amputations got $1,000 or less, with only a handful of exceptions."

I am really hoping to hear that this allegation was proven untrue.

I recall Hannity addressing this but it’s all hazy. I do recall that he said the private jet stuff was pretty laughable. He mostly always flies regular carriers and even flies in coach or some such.

Yesterday? Day before? QAnthow, just in hannity talking about the blind guy who was kicked off the plane with his dog...anyhow the banter between Hannity and one of his crew made it sound like Hannity flies regular. That’s all I know and recall.

Hannity certainly isn’t a favorite talk host of mine but I don’t think he would be such an azz. I just don’t believe it. I think he’s a good and decent human being.

Debbie Schlussel, once I saw that name I read no further, I know it is pure, bs, crapola, rino dung.

With the way Sean has always name-dropped, I wouldn't be surprised that “keeping up appearances” hasn't been near the top of his priorities.

For a number of his early years, he couldn't even think his way out of a paper bag. Everything he said was what Rush had said in an earlier time slot, but without any added insight.

QAnthow = Anyhow.

Sorry, I have a band-aid on my fingertip. I was working with mortar and my glove broke, it eventually burned/took the skin off my fingertip. Gah it hurts...

Debbie Schlussel was pissed at Sean because she said he stole her work, used it, and didn’t credit her. The Freedom Concert smear was her way of getting back.

That’s one of the last issues I remember Mark Levin commenting on here. (FR)

I had posted a thread about Debbie being ticked off at Sean. If I remember correctly.

Is Hannity still an admirer of John McPain?

I’m not sure. I usually don’t listen to him but I’ve been working some projects and haven’t bothered to turn off my radio when he comes on. Heck, I even listened to John Bachelor a couple of times last week. I did enjoy Bachelor’s interview of a professor who wrote a book on WW 1—it was VERY enjoyable.

G5 is so last year. Has to be a G550 or G650 to be decadent now.

By searching the threads, she was gunning for Sean back in 2009 for a guest he had on.

She’s nuts.

Often times, if one is able to search and time their flights and purchases, flying business can be comparable to flying coach, especially when on considers baggage fees.

If someone is buying last minute, they might as well just buy a business class ticket.

Somehow, I missed this whole thing, completely. I need to do some research and bring myself up-to-date.
